Rebirth dev Daniel-David Guertin's In Torment: The Case of the Drawing Girl(previously known as Art of Crime) is a Windows freeware title you can play in its final stages, as the investigative adventure gameplay and 'pop-up book' style interaction in a hand-sketched world is ready for you to explore. The titular drawing girl went silent after witnessing a horrible event, and instead has drawn pictures of what she saw. You alternate between magically(?) entering her scary pictures, gathering clues, adding them to your notebook, and interrogating the girl to put together the event.

The developer promises a new story is generated every time you start a new playthrough. I like that instead of a difficulty setting, it offers a "darkness" setting that determines how twisted and graphic the series of events are.
