So I noticed a few other people mention the same thing to me, but when I browse the forums here my firefox tends to crash. It's not so much that it's crashing as it starts taking up about 70% of my CPU usage and won't let me do anything. It's almost as if it's encountering an infinite loop at points and I am forced to end the process in task manager. I'm also not switching to chrome, so don't suggest that please.

Adblock and Ghostery are the only addons. Not many tabs, usually 2 or 3, but even if there is none I encounter the problem.

I don't have any problem either, i'm also using Adblock. Maybe you could try deactivating Ghostery and see if something changes...
Also, are you using a beta version of Firefox? It might be the problem, but i'm not an expert, maybe it's better to wait for someone that has some knowledge in this -
I've been using Firefox for quite a while and there hasn't been any crashes on any websites. I have anywhere from 1-6 tabs open at times, and it really doesn't matter much. Really, something like a forum shouldn't be making crashes.
Make sure you're using the stable version of Firefox and not the beta version. Make sure you don't have any viruses, and make sure that none of your add-ons and or other software (ex. antivirus) are interfering somehow. -
Its most likely the ad-dons that you have on your Firefox, or maybe the themes.
I am using the default version with no ad-dons and it runs nice and smoothly for me =]
