Changing psu

Hey bros,

i would like to change my psu and i want your knowlegde on this side.
So what do you reccomend for me?

and am planing ,hopefully to change my cpu to i7 intel series
and my motherboard,although i think its k.

First off, never heard of your PSU. Assuming it's a generic and low-end one. Don't upgrade your PC yet but first upgrade your PSU.

i7 with K means it's unlocked for Overclocking. You need a Z77 or Z68 Motherboard depending on what generation you like.

Sandy bridge i7-2600k = Z68
Ivy Bridge i7-3770K = Z77

How much is your budget?

Selling your current PC except for its HDD is a good option for more budget.

By the time you have the money to get a new CPU and MOtherboad(if it takes 5 months), there will be new CPU out in the market.:D Anyways, yes, PSU is the heart of your PC. Cheap PSU = danger on your part. It's either you got your PC fried or your psu will blow.

The non-modular Seasonic M12II 620 which is Seasonic S12II 620w is $70 or $80 I think.

Yes, it fits to any motherboard and CPU. And no the electricity consumption depends on the CPU and GPU and etc.:) The PSU is the only one powering them up.:)

general rule when getting a PSU is make sure you have plenty of Watts, get the best you can afford and you should be safe, if you go for 800W to 1000W you will be fine plus it should leave you some Watts free just incase in the future you decide to upgrade further. If you don't have enough Watts available for the hardware then your pc will be under powered and it'll just shut off when it hits it's limit which could damage the components. Get the best you can afford and try to get around 800W. This site allows you to put in the hardware your using and how much you expect to use it and tells you a estimation of how many Watts your gonna need, go for a PSU with 50W more than what this site says just to be safe: thermaltake.outervision.com/

dont have the knowledge to fill in that form plus i already ordered my psu

edit am not gonna use more than 1 monitor or any external dvd/cd drivers.
only one external hd,which has a plug to operate

XFX Pro Core 550w is a good PSU but with i7-3770K and 7950Ghz. I doubt you could overclock on that. Should have got the 650w.

Will see, i will buy my cpu last so its a hella money i want,i will see by that time.

am going psu>ram>gpu>motherboard>cpu,is it ok?
i mean gpu will fit in my current motherboard right?

p.s if i go for motherboard first i will be left without cpu or vice versa

Yep, it's really fine. Is your motherboard supporting DDR3 rams? or it has DDR2 rams? If it's DDR2 rams, then go with this...

psu>gpu>motherboard+ram+cpu.

Download Speccy, search it on google. xD Then tell me if it's DDR3.

CL11 and CL9. I don't really know the difference CL11 is much more costly right? I think CL11 and CL10 can be overclocked? CL9 can't. I don't know though really.

Hyperx blu 4GB 1600mhz? If yes, just buy another stick.

Did you download speccy?

if it's 800mhz, it means 1600mhz. If it's 532mhz, it's 1333mhz. The reason....I forgot why it is halved the actual speed. xD
