What? Fart? I never said that.
      .____.
Anyway. I've been drawing for 12 years. Like, seriously, drawing.
I started out with cartoon, as most young kids start and after I saw Dragonball Z on TV, I was sold. I HAD TO LEARN HOW TO DRAW LIKE THAT.
Hundreds of anime later, I've created my very own style. And now, I wants to learn semi realism. And I'm busy with that!
Below are samples of my work. All links though, because I'm afraid they'll be too big to fully enjoy if I list them here. D:
(some are around 3000x4000 px lulz)

More at my dA page .
Oh. I also got a Facebook Fanpage ... *coughs* I post my work in progress thingies there. Also vector things for my internship and stuff.
      See me progress! c:

    • Thank youuuuuuuuuuu. :D
And yeah, I'm still struggling with lighting and shadows too but might as well practice everything.
I had a strong hate towards realism at first because I absolutely could NOT draw noses... But yeah.

Besides... you said you've only been serious about it for a year.
Practice practice practice until your fingers start bleeeedingggggg. D:<

      Violet is blue
      An artist like you
Could make a grand or two

Other than that you're as awesome as xDimax in my humble opinion. And seriously, you two SHOULD do some collabs

If you're angry, don't break anybody's heart, they only have one..... Break their bones, they have 206 of them

i am delighted to hear that, kind sir.
However, back into reality, she's far ahead of me. I just finished practicing, but my head was about to explode after 5 hours, i guess i'll take a break.

and seriously, F*** those shadows and lightings. i wish reality was 2d and cel-shaded.

    • I'm self taught, I never took any lessons myself and somehow I now think that it's best if you practice it on your own.
If you take lessons you're copying someone else's style. Sure, you do that too when you practice at home with images on the internet, but still.
And I've got no patience at all. xD So HAH. LESSONS.

      ...I wouldn't be a good teacher~ ;(

PS. Also made myself a nice about me on my about me page. *coughs*

I have been drawing some stuff but i really need help to start to learn shadows and stuff because I fail so much at those parts

And nice introduction :P what kind of mmo do you play?
    • i know that feel bro, i'm still learning, but it's all a matter of practicing and practicing till either your eyes bleed or your head blows up. eventually after some time you'll see the improvements.
it's sort of hard to notice them while you keep practicing, but when you look back at something you made a year go, you'll see the difference.

    • I occasionally buy a great magazine called ImagineFX; it's mostly digital art and with every issue there's a CD with tutorials, PSD files, brushes etc.
There are a few nice tutorials about skin tones too. Look for skin color palettes/color schemes on -for example- DeviantArt, there's a lot of them out there!
Anyway, set up a light source in a corner and try to focus on that when applying lighting/shadow.
I take it you don't want line art in that first image, so I'd start with the basic color schemes for skin.
Take note that when you look at your own skin there's different color hues in it, greens, blues, purple etc.
Try to keep that in mind when you're painting skin!
Also, yellow and purple hues are a match made in heaven.

      A few links:

      th02.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i…_by_deviantnep-ddx3g3.jpg (USEFUL!)

Lately what I've been doing is painting in grey scale first. That way you don't have to worry about what color the lighting/shadows should be etc. After I'm done in grey scale I switch to a new layer and experiment with the layer blending modes and paint over it with color.

At the moment, I play Guild Wars 2. Sometimes a bit of Tera, but I've been slacking after I switched from EU to NA. :p
    • i've just started using the grayscale method too, it seems "easier" to think where and how to put shadows. i really suggest you to try it out.

an example on what i'm talking about

i also got a few ImagineFXs, the illustrations are just awesome. the tutorials are also nice, but i've only tried one about the skin as for now.
i have yet to explore the CDs that came with the magazines

Anyway, here's a few steps I managed to printscreen while painting the Sylvari piece.
