Lost Planet 3 goes... horror?

I haven't played the first two Lost Planet games, though I've watched my brother play bits of the first one before. Opinions?

Bros, I don't get it. Really... oh yes, NOW I get it.... HORROR SELLS GAMES!! Which is why every existing licences are going in this way :s

I wouldn't say every series ever is going that way... but I have to admit I'd rather have a bunch of people try to revive the horror genre (which has been relatively quiet in comparison to the "God of War" and "Battlefield" type of games). If only because at least a few of them actually get it right and make epic horror games to play

(or watch, lol)

I don't know how much "horror" Lost Planet 3 would have... but I liked the idea of a game in a snowy, cold environment and the idea that you need heat so survive... adding horror to the mix might be interesting.

Dammit,Capcom.
They turned Resident Evil into some kind of third person shooter where the horror part is almost gone.
And now,they turn Lost Planet [which was fine the way it was before,even if I don't like it] into a horror game?
Oh come on,that's ridiculous.

the game industry is getting really ridiculous now and why did they get rid of the horror genre from RE that was a very stupid thing to do

"if you're gonna make a game a certain genre stick with that genre if you change it at any point alot of people will probably lose interest" - me

Exactly. Game companies apparently make horror games that may seem scary to them but aren't in real life. That's because they focus more on the guns and shooting rather than the 'fleeing for your lives' feeling you get from scary survival horror games. Survival horror is the genre you should look for; not horror itself.

It would at least be nice if it takes a "The Thing" kind of mood. That would be pretty scary though.

The first one was the best, the second not so much. But the trailer looks promessing.
