How to Eliminate BackGround Noise?

I have an AT2020 USB Microphone, deskmount, shock mount, and pop filter, but the mic still pics up EVERYTHING. there's ambient noise even when the room is totally silent.

Can anyone help me out?

Hm, I'm not a professional recorder or anything, but I'm pretty sure these some option to reduce this in some programs. You could also try using Push to Talk if nothing else works.

I've found that more insulation helps; strap more foam to the mic.
But sometimes it's just the way the mic was built. I have a low quality camcorder, and the mic has a lot of static when you listen to a video.

Thank you to everyone who has replied! I figured it out. I use an AT2020 condenser mic, so I was wondering how to filter out the white noise. Turns out I was just using Audacity improperly. Thank you all
