I love that this community is large enough to allow players of all kinds of games to find others with similar liking, and the Recruitment section of the forum is a very good way to make new friends, and play with old ones.
But it's a bit of a mess.
I would suggest that whoever decides to create a thread where they are offering folks to join them on their servers be a bit more specific (no one-liners that simply state "I'm playing (this game) anyone wanna join?").
The Minecraft/Terraria threads, in particular. PLEASE give us : The name of the server (if there is one), the number of players (on the whitelist/memberlist), the average number of players online, a short description (is it a RolePlay server? PvP? PvE? Survival or Creative? Is there a story for the world?), some guidelines (a list of the rules, if there are any), etc... and most importantly, gives us some pictures. Screenshots, videos, maps... anything.
As for any other game threads... remember, people here are from everywhere around the world. It's awesome. It's amazing. But it means that not everybody has the same time zone. When you create a thread asking or offering to play in coop/on a server... please include, for example : your time zone (and, if possible, give us the days and times you are usually available so people will know more quickly if they are available at the same time), your server's website (if there is one), the number of people you are looking for (if applicable), the languages you speak/would rather speak (nothing wrong with wanting to play only in English, or being available to both English and Swedish speakers, for example), etc.....
I really don't want to come here and be a party pooper. But I find that being a bit more organized would help pair up players more quickly and efficiently. I do respect that some people would rather keep details private so as to "screen" people, but a minimum of information (and no one-liners) would be appreciated, I think.
TL;DR : Be more specific when you create a recruitment thread, add more info and pictures to make it easier and more efficient.
