Hi, I just downloaded Ao Oni and Mad Father, and have the full version of Fraps. Just tried to test out recording either, and nothing happened. What is the reason?

maybe fraps doesn't recognize the games as a game, try to go to the general tab, and check Monitor Aero Desktop (DMW), if it still doesn't work, i'm sorry.

This should work, but mostly there will be some lag in FPS, try bandicam (not free) or dxtory (free?)!

Tick the "record aero desktop" option

Fraps and Dxtory are D3D captures, I guess the option in fraps to record Aero is a workaround.
If you want a normal screen capture (Considering Ao Oni is DirectDraw), use Bandicam. -
Any game that isn't OpenGL or DirectX based won't be recognized as a game by Fraps. You gotta use another program to record it, bro. I went through the same problem to record To the Moon for my channel. I even tried using XSplit but it lags as hell lol
You can also try to record the desktop but i don't know if the videos should be at the same quality since you'll have to crop everything but the game window in the video editor.

I think alt Z makes ao oni full screen but i could be wrong, there is way just google it
