  • Which network is better?

    TGN OR SOCIALBLADE?

I'm getting close to applying for a partnership and i've always had my eye on tgn, but i was just on there forums and it seems there having a lot of issues with payment emails and such and it just wasn't something good to see if you were thinking about partnering with them pretty much. But i also have heard people say that socialblade has its downs as well because of there customer support. So which network should i pick? Any information would be much appreciated, like pros and cons of each network. Thanks guys.

  • Anything except Machinima , only out for your money. Also regarding the forum , the bitchy people register @ the forum @ TGN only to bitch about stuff and whatnot , while the happy partners are minding their own business. I suggest you would go for Fullscreen or equivelent. I suggest you search for a network who has no yearly contract. The only one I know who has this is TGN , but I have heard about some smaller networks who basically grant the same , but the pay will be lower due to the fact they partner you through an other network (meaning they will be a third party and the payment will be as follows Youtube > Big Network > Small Network > You. This allows you to try some stuff out.

Nowadays every network is a kinda a pile of shit.

    Also

    Socialblade :
    + Easy to get partnered
+ Possibillity to get a shoutout from socialblade
    + Dashboard

+/- Partners people with a low viewcount

    - Everyone can get partner at socialblade currently , lowest requirements ever...
    - Poor partnersupport
    - Partners only people who have commentary on ALL of their vids (personal experience)
    - Fixed CPM's
    - Yearly contract
    - Being a nazi with 'copyrighted' stuff

    TGN :
    + Dynamic CPM's
+ Leave whenever you want (need 30 days period for the unpartner process)
+ Due to the above said , used as a 'bus-station' for bigger networks if you want to
+ Has 'partner' connections with twitch.tv

-/+ Moderate partner support nowadays , was really sucky before. On their way to improve a shitload
-/+ Was kinda dicky before , now listens quite to requests made on the forum
    -/+ Holding giveaways on Twittter

    - Directors of the main channels use the channels to only promote their stuff and being total dicks to submissions (gonna send a file complaint about this one.)
    - Currently under massive reorganisation
    - Payment issues due to the migration to BBTV and the above said
    - Dashboard in the making , but people too excited for it due to George being all sparkly about it and promising too much
    - Whiny kids on the forum bitching about stuff

  • There is an idea that Machinima is only out for the money, and in my experiences I can say that is completely not true. Every time I have asked for help, my question has been answered (and fast too). They genueinly wanted to help me, in any way shape or form. The fact they are the biggest network, yet they have such a quick response time is fantastic. It is a great company, and the recent cuts were due to the unrealistic CPM the major partners were getting. Though, they do have a 3 year contract and a CPM that is based on your channel, so its ok for smaller guys but better for bigger.

However, I wouldn't suggest them (for you). I would go with Maker/RPM, when I was contacting them they had a fantastic response time. This is along with a great CPM that is very fair, with only a 1 year contract.

I was previously with TGN, and they were ok. If you get partnered, and have no problems, you'll be fine. Good CPM. But they had by far the shittiest partner support, and other previous partners can vouch for me. I've left since their whole revamp, so I can't comment on their status now, but I still don't prefer them. That is tl;dr of my problems, but this isn't the place or time. TGN just feels very unprofessional with a lack of direction.

But do your own research too, look at all options and see what is best for you :)

Thanks so much Cirno! Yeah seems like im still leaning towards TGN, the pros seem to out weigh the cons. And the you can leave with 30 days notice thing is pretty sweet too. Thanks a lot for your feedback and help on the subject man.

Thanks a lot man! Yeah i just want TGN as a starting block and just see how it goes, if i don't like it i'll just leave and consider other options i guess. Thanks for the feedback though man!

  • RPM>TGN>Machinima>Socialblade

RPM is good all-around. Can get promoted to Maker or TGS when you've become bigger. Dynamic CPM.60%-40% cut
TGN has no lock-in which is really rare for networks. Dynamic CPM. Has a huge improvement when the former CEO stepped down. "100%"
Socialblade....is pretty decent. Not so good, not that bad. Can get spotlighted and such. Same with RPM
Machinima...also decent. Suckish lock-in contract. Fixed CPM, $2-$3 I think. Used your own adsense which is a bit risky.
  • I'm currently with RPM/Socialblade and I like it so far. Got partnered like 15 days ago so I don't know if I'm the right person to talk about it though.
Support seems just fine to me,takes em a day or two to answer your email, but they're VERY active on twitter and will respond in matter of minutes. CPM is dynamic as stated above,60-40 cut. They also got both RPM and Socialblade spotlights which you can apply for.
Horror let's plays all around! :D

Thanks a lot guys! When do you think i should apply for a partnership? I think if i asked now they would say yes because i fit every requirement except one (1,000 views a day) i get 500 views a day

Wait till you hit the 1k. Partnership isn't too important for smaller channels, so you'll be fine without it for a while :)
