You don't need an i7 for amnesia and penumbra, overall they're not high end games and an i5 is enough to play gta 4 / far cry 3 and other high end stuff.

I think you will do with a geforce gti 550. I'm not that pro in hardware but I think that is a start.

That should work fine with these games and it's a budget card too so it's not very expensive

i5 3xxx or i5-2xxx is compatible with Intel LGA 1155 motherboards.:)

About video card, get GTX 650 Ti. I believe it's on $150 or higher.:) Best card on that price. Can play some games on Max. And most games at mixed settings.:)

GTX 460 is old. Pewdiepie is just wearing and might buy a new one. GTX 670 maybe. Go with the latest cards.

Honestly you should probably be thinking a bit farther ahead than just buying a graphics card solely to play penumbra and amnesia.

You can find benchmarks online for all of these cards in various games and use that to compare with what you think you need in the type of gaming you plan on doing going forward.

Also, in response to the poster above me, it isn't actually true that you should just buy new stuff. I've met people I consider experts who would say the opposite, that it's better to buy an old, equivalent card for a cheaper price. The only drawback to old cards is that they're usually hotter and draw more power than new cards with equivalent power, so just make sure your computer has a strong enough power supply for them.

Thus, it will hurt you in a long run since even if it's cheaper, it consumes much larger power.:)

The only way that's a disadvantage is if you have a power supply that can't handle having a more power hungry card, or if your computer isn't well cooled =P And it's not necessarily that great a difference anyway even so.
I know someone who repairs and modifies graphics cards who would say that buying a new card instead of an equivalent older one is a total ripoff, and I followed his advice myself by buying the geforce 580 instead of the 670 when I built my computer.

Okey those are mobile graphics. Are you looking for a laptop? But yes I would go a far to say that it is over kill for amnesia.

I got my 580 for much less than that, only a couple hundred =P And 3gb too. As far as the power, they're pretty much equal. 580 is a bit better for general graphics applications and 670 is a bit better for gaming, as I understand it.

670>580. 7870=580 or maybe 7870 beats 580 a little, and vice versa.:) It's all up to you anyway.:D If you're going to upgrade, just wait for the 7xx nvidia or 8xx. xD

those are my specs for my laptop that i have. i am not good with graphics cards and know absolutely nothing about CPU's. just wondering if it is any good to play the game before i buy it.
