    • Wanting a Critic.. How to grow a successful channel?

      Hey guys..
I am not really asking how to grow a successful channel in general, but more for myself.. I'm not really happy with the growth of my channel, I know it all just takes time but I feel like I could do a lot better.
If someone could give me an honest critic and help me with things that could increase my traffic, I would appreciate it.. I'm not really used to this stuff.. haha.
I also know it has a lot to do with originality.. do you think I have that? Some of my lets plays are kind of old, but that is the general idea.

I would really appreciate the critic. It is always good to hear opinions from different people.

For let's plays as I have suggested before you must start with some famous games and get some views and then they will start coming at you :3
You also do animations and Vlogs, that's a really nice idea.
How long do you have that channel?

A couple months now.. I think it's a pretty good start but I feel as if my commentary could be so much better..

Could be like how my channel ended up.

140 subs after 2 years with only 5 views a day.

Getting that many within a couple of months I would say is an accomplishment.

A little bit under 50 subs here. Still working hard. You're not alone Suuki. Most of this whole YT internet viral shit is luck, as it were.

I always thought it had to do with content. But I guess that's not true. It's so hard to get good traffic on YT.. It seems almost impossible..
Even so, I'm happy with my traffic atm... I'm not very confident about my content though.

Good content is very important to keep the views coming in. I have seen numerous viral videos that employed cheap tricks to get millions of views, but they get lots of hate. One of those channels posted here for help today >.>

But as I said most of virality on youtube is sheer luck stemming from word of mouth. You could have posted a brilliant concerto rivaling that of Mozart... But without proper networking and word of mouf it may only ever get 100 views. >.>

YT is totally dog eat dog. Do it for your own reasons, and no one else's.

Oh and do check out Cirno's link. It is highly informative.
    • What I was really asking for was a critic. :) I am very aware of how Youtube works and how to get good content and stuff..
I have looked over my own stuff to see how to improve.. just wondering what others think I could do?

Do they actually do Youtube channel reviews on here? Like judge it by first impression, content and so on.. Because If they do, that is what I would want. :)

If they don't I think that would be a great add on to the forums.
    • Not to be rude, but you only made 7 videos so far. What did you expect out of this?

Take a look at some content creators like PewDiePie or Minnesotaburns. The didnt start growth before a long time coming. Just keep up with yourself and make a schedule for how many videos you upload per week. I'm sure it wont be long before you find a cycle you can follow to keep uploading content.

Akisha says that you need views before starting a Let's Play... I do not agree though.

You can make a Let's Play, but shoot a couple of episodes before hand, you know what I mean? Shoot like 2-4 episodes at a time, when you feel the flow and is in the essence!

      Hope it helps.
    • I can understand that it makes you kinda sad that there is no growth, but I also want to mention again, that you just need to make videos. Try to bring a variety in your videos, do exciting new things, things you might wanna watch and that are special.
Also obiously the more videos you have the more people you can satisfy.... And then again it is just people's taste, if they like your voice, looks, accent etc.
I am only doing this for 3 weeks and already get comments how my English might not be goog enough, or that I have a strong accent etc.... If I am lucky some people will like it as it is something different, but when I'm not, people will stop watching and will watch videos of natives....

So it's hard to give you a review of your channel, you should do like about 50 videos, that is representative I'd say

Edit: Also it is kinda essential for a Lets Play channel, to have a consistant series, you for example palyed some slender and some kirby, why not do many records of this game and then put them in a playlist!

    • Everything has it's ups and downs... So do youtube channels. Like mine. Coming home from the weekend and immediately checking my youtube to find all the new positive feedback and a few more subscribers. (Felt amazing also because got my self to 18.000 views. Also haven't got subscribers in a long time.)
Best tip is here: DO VIDEOS, all you do is videos. I find it that you are just looking for channel growth and just sitting there waiting. I proved it my self because most of the comments and views were on my latest videos.
I am sorry for such negative post but yea.
I am not posting videos too often because of school but I am doing my best!
