That is something I hated in Pokemon. You had to buy something more or have a special event with wifi thingy for some pokemon, which was annoying. Only other way was hax0rz, and no one like those <-< >->

And that you had to trade to evolve some pokemon... and so on... it was really annoying.
      I love ya all ~ :3

    • Well, that's still pretty close to a Turkey ;)

"All Zauridons drop cash at least, but only Wild ones drop anything else such as the Eggs, but they don't always drop the eggs because I'm still working on how that mechanic works."

Would this not be in theory like how in Pokemon you cannot capture another trainers pokemon? The egg from that Zauridon could "belong" to that trainer, meaning that you wouldn't just take it. If Zauridon was wild however, when "knocked out" or "defeated" in battle, they would drop the egg, not being able to hold on to it anymore, allowing you to just take it.
A smile a day, keeps sadness away!

Come and have a good ol' cuppa with me... You know you want to ...

The thing is the tamed Zauridons don't drop anything other than experience and cash, but Wild ones are fair game thus drop stuff. That's sort of how that there works. Besides, most of the battles are against Wild Zauridons save for a few important battles here and there.

Well, technically the original plan was to have the Upgraded forms required to be traded, not to evolve them, but simply because the evolution item to obtain them was only found once. However, I then changed my mind in that there are 4 additional ones you get for obtaining Anomalys, Obanys, Lagganys, and Alienasaur. The former three were at Level 50 and the latter at Level 70, you'd get the X Upgrade necessary to obtain the Upgraded Starters. Not to mention the fact that not only are all the starters found without trading, but for plot and stuff it's the one you chose at the beginning of the game that effects plot progression. Another thing is that by the time you unlock Grandis's area, you face the Upgraded forms in the Wild, and instead of Eggs they drop X Upgrades, hence you can obtain multiples of the X-Upgrades even after already obtaining the Upgraded forms in the game.

But believe me, how Game Freak handles the Event Legendaries is a gamble, because some events can end up with nothing released (The Azure Flute was never released, and currently Meloetta has no US Event for it despite it appearing in the anime long ago by now, AND the fact we got Genesect already as well but no Meloetta).

But anyways, I figured I'd explain one mechanic that IS set in stone for now; The Base Stats:

      Display Spoiler

Base HP (Health Points): 1.4x per Level-Up
Base MP (Magic Points): 1.4x per Level-Up
      Base Attack: 1.2x per Level-Up
      Base Defense: 1.2x per Level-Up
      Base Speed: 1.2x per Level-Up
      Stat Points: 5+ per Level-Up

Basically a mix between RPG games that I got the stat system for. There is only five stats and that's all there ever will be, since I don't want to copy Pokemon by having a second set of attack and defense stats. The Level-Cap, while at 100 in Gen I, increases with each generation until a final set cap of 1,000, after which the stat caps are 9,999, which is also the stat cap in all Generations. The highest base value a stat can have is 24 for HP and MP, and 20 for Attack, Defense, and Speed. Grandis defines this by having each of his stats at those values as his base stats (24/24/20/20/20). HP and MP are no duh going to be higher than the normal stats, but despite how it looks, there is a secret stat: Luck. Luck does not increase normally, and has a different value depending on the rank of the Zauridon:

Normal Zauridon (Spinersuchus, Hardheadasaur, Etc.): 5 Base Luck.
Starter Zauridon (Carnivosaur, Glidosaur, etc.): 10 Base Luck.
Beginning Starter Zauridon (The first Zauridon obtained in that save): 12 Base Luck.
Upgraded Normal Zauridon: 15 Base Luck.
Upgraded Starter Zauridon: 20 Base Luck.
Beginning Upgraded Starter Zauridon: 24 Base Luck.
Super Starter Zauridon (Devisaur, QZDragonsaur, etc.): 25 Base Luck.
Beginning Super Starter Zauridon: 30 Base Luck.

Super Upgraded Starter Zauridon (Not until Gen III): 40 Base Luck.
Beginning Super Upgraded Starter Zauridon (Not until Gen III): 42 Base Luck.

Lesser Legendary Zauridon (Anomalys, Obanys, Lagganys, etc.): 45 Base Luck.
Legendary Zauridon (Alienasaur, Emperius, etc.): 55 Base Luck.
Uber Legendary Zauridon: 65 Base Luck.
      Grandis: 100 Base Luck.

1 Base Luck is basically 1% for a Rare Effect to be dropped by the enemy Zauridon, such as Double Cash, Double Exp., and also dropping Eggs. Out of these three, each has their own percentage of occurring:
70% chance of an Egg being dropped.
20% for Double Cash to be rewarded.
7% for Double Exp. to be earned.
2% for both Double Cash and Double Exp.
      1% for all three bonuses.

Now of course, the hardest to obtain Zauridons have the higher Luck values, while the more common ones have smaller chances of the bonuses happening. Note, even with all three party Zauridons, the Luck value used to determine this is the highest base Luck out of the three, completed unaffected by the Luck of the other two Zauridons in the party.

Now then, we get to stat points. In addition to stats increasing upon Level-Up, you are awarded 5 stat points for each Level-Up. These points can be distributed into the five stats at any time given time when they're available, so of course you can chose to put 1 stat point in each stat, or choose a custom amount for the stat points to be used for your Zauridon's stats. As Luck is not considered a true stat in this game, it is ignored in this hence why there is only 5 stat points for each Level-Up. The highest possible value with the Stat Caps in Generation I is 915 for HP and MP, and 911 for Attack, Defense, and Speed. Not this is only if you choose to max out only a single stat. When the Level-Cap becomes 1,000, the highest possible is 9,015 for HP and MP, and 9,011 for Attack, Defense, and Speed. Again, these are only the values for when a single stat is maxed out over the other stats.

      Other Notes:
-The Level-Cap is lower in earlier Generations because of lack of Zauridon variety. Of the Generations planned, currently at five (But it'll go BEYOND this, trust me), there will be 200 Zauridons, not including alternate modes at all at that, so hence the Level-Cap is higher because of more content in the game, and because of that some Zauridons from Generation V are SPECIFICALLY designed for Leveling up to 1,000 in terms of the Levels they're encountered at and their Exp. Yields. Need I mention if Grandis is transferred all the way from Gen I, the Uber Legendary of that Generation, which is Level 1,000 in the Wild, turns into a 10% encounter random encounter enemy after it's faced the first time as a boss?

Another Mechanic I'll take about is how transferring between Generations is going to work; It's simple, really. One complaint about how it's handled in Pokemon is that once you've transferred the Pokemon over to the next Generation, the save file in the Gen game before it feels empty and all that effort put to waste. However, in Project: Zauridon, it simply looks at the save data of the previous Generations, and copies the Zauridons over instead of permanently transferring them. Also, instead of a slow process, it does this with ALL OF THEM at once, and since it doesn't actually transfer, it copies the Party Zauridons as well. Note that in-order to copy over Zauridons, you must have beaten the final boss Zauridon of that Generation first, THEN the option becomes unlocked almost immediately. Uber Legendaries will be copied as well, including Grandis, but they won't obey commands until every Zauridon up to that point is obtained. Grandis, as the Generation I Uber Legendary, is the most needy of the Uber Legendaries in this case. Though this isn't THAT much of an issue even then, because all Uber Legendaries are obtained when you obtain every other Zauridon as well, so 100% completion isn't that hard to accomplish other than Leveling the Zauridons up to the newer Level Caps.

What you can do in terms of trading and stuffs:
-From a previous Generation you can copy every Zauridon currently in possession (Both in the Party and stored), into the storage of the current Generation. Another example of this is if you're playing a file under Gen V, and you have all previous Generations with saves that have each of the Zauridons of their Generations, then it will copy them from ALL of them all in one quick move.
-Trading Zauridons between games of the same Generation.
-Trading ITEMS between games of the same generation except Key Items.
-COPYING ITEMS from previous generations except Key Items.
-Battling between saves of the same Generation.

      CANNOT do:
-Trade between different Generations outside of copying them over to the later Gens.
-Battles between different Generations for, uh, obvious reasons.
    • Another update on things. Updates will mainly focus on Gen I, II, and III, since if the development of PZ takes longer than expected, I'll make up for it by releasing the later generations earlier, like, early as in the same day as Gen I if possible. So with that, Gen I, II, and III are being focused on at the same time. Currently, I'm working on a list of Zauridons for the 3rd Gen, though only a few of the sprites are done yet.

      Display Spoiler

In Gen III's storyline, the X Upgrade has become increasingly common, to the point extreme versions of the item were made to enhance the original test subjects of it even further than intended. It succeeded, but the forms are not permanent. Meanwhile, the X Upgrade was used to create many new species of Zauridons (All but two Zauridons in this Generation are not related to another species). The main storyline focuses on the experimentation of Slenderman by the same scientist thought to have been dead since Emperius broke loose in the 1st Gen. In the process he creates modified clones of HABIT, The Rake, and Slenderman as well as new Zauridons. However, while all three are the final bosses, Slendreadead isn't destroyed until another battle later, in which it is destroyed by the Super Mode of one of the Upgraded Gen I Starters, afterwards the eggs of all three are obtained. The post-game revolves around an Alien that mysteriously appears on the planet, and ultimately this alien, dubbed Thingaros, is faced as the 100% completion Secret Final Boss. However, unlike Grandis and Evilis, both of whom it's related to stat wise and story wise, it makes frequent appearances before you face him, but he doesn't appear until after the main storyline. This Generation features 35 Zauridons to make a total of 100 Zauridons as of this Generation.

    • Well, it's been a while since I updated this topic. Well, to be fair, college has been keeping me busy, thus preventing me working on the game as much, but even then I still need to figure out the proper coding for the features I want to do with this game, and I think I can't use either Game Maker nor RPG Maker for this, as the Level Cap from Gen V and onward will 1,000, which I think I'll have to custom code it myself. I DO, on the other hand, have some news at least.

Every story has it's villain, but I noticed Project: Zauridon had no real antagonists at all, and even the ones that did seemed to be working for something greater. With that said, I finally decided to reveal the Don behind the Don, but beware, the spoiler tags contains heavy spoilers.

      Display Spoiler

      Name: DeltaMaster
      Rarity: Uber Legendary
      Dinosaur Basis: Triops longicaudatus
      Number: #???
      Element: Metal
      Base HP: 24
      Base MP: 24
      Base Attack: 20
      Base Defense: 20
      Base Speed: 20
      Info:
He is the main antagonist of the Zauridon games. Secretly having been doing all the villainous work from behind the scenes since Gen I, it becomes slightly more obvious with each later Generation that somebody is pulling the strings behind all the chaos in the Zauridon realm. In Gen II, Evilis hints as to working for someone else, despite every other Zauridon having been seen up to that point. In Gen III, no human was capable of gaining the essence of Slenderman, Rake, and HABIT to the point copies could be made of them. In Gen IV, the final bosses are entirely mechanical Zauridons, and they are about to reveal the name of their creator until they go offline before they could finish. In a secret message in Gen IV, however, it is made clear that whoever is in charge is finally going to make an appearance, and that is when Gen V begins, starting off right away with a battle against DeltaMaster with whatever was in your team before you started the Gen V quests (Except for few that have to be re-obtained each Gen), and depending on whether you win or loss determines the difficulty of this Generation's storyline. It ultimately ends with DeltaMaster's death, but he assures the player that his legacy will live on forever, as after all, "life finds a way", and indeed it shall. His armor, due to it being a Zauridon, can be obtained at some point later, and thus be used as a Zauridon in your team of three in a party at a single time. Though he is Metal Element, expect to use mostly Ice, Thunder, and Fire Element attacks when using him in battle, or when facing him as the final boss, as he has an obsession with those three elements.

Also now that I've decided it, I've figured out how I'm handling the Generations; Instead of brand new saves, they are instead Chapters to the same overall storyline and game. Thus, you can continue a save file from Gen I onward into Gen II, and even keeping your Zauridons from the Gen I save. However, some Zauridons have to be rechallenged to obtain again in this manor. The Zauridons you start with in a new Gen but an old file is the ones you last used in the previous Gen (In other words, whatever was in your party last). If Grandis is one of these Zauridons in the Party, the Special Boss at the beginning of each Gen after Gen II will be able to be won instead of immediately lost. Using Grandis to win will result in a greater challenge in terms of gameplay, but after the Boss, Grandis will leave the party and await for you again at the level that the Generation you start in has. However, you keep all your old Zauridons other than Grandis, also special cutscenes by having certain Zauridons (For Grandis, this cutscene is instead winning the normally un-winnable boss fight at the beginning of Gen II and onward).

Also another note, CHEAT CODES/EXTRAS will be added, but not necessarily cheats:
      Display Spoiler

-In Gen I, if you choose Carnivosaur, and then nickname it "Heart", it'll have a different coloration, and not only that, but it'll have increased stats that pretty much outclass Yinyangasaur, and also more powerful abilities and moves.
-In Gen II, if your character name is Pewdiepie, Pewdie, or Bro (Which if it isn't, you CAN change in mid-game by a special NPC), you will notice several familiar statues in certain temples in the game. If your character isn't named one of those three, none of them will move. However, if you have the correct character name, then you will notice one or two of them will move. When interacting with one of these, they will greet you and begin a battle with a Zauridon called Stegano, which is homage to Stephano.
-In the same Generation as above, having Stegano in your party while also having the same character name, will result in several barrels in a secret chamber suddenly revealing themselves as the Zauridon Nautilarrel, which awaken from their disguises to face you. If you beat them using only Stegano, you will obtain one of these Nautilarrel. Note that both these codes can be done without the character name change, just that it'll be much harder to notice without Pewdie or Pewdiepie as a character name.
-In Gen III, you can occasionally bump into Slenderman or The Rake during the main storyline, but neither will attack and will instead flee. However, Slenderman flees in a specific manor as if it were luring you to somewhere. That somewhere is a dark forest with 8 Pages scattered around the area, and you have a time limit of 2 minutes to collect all 8 before Slenderman catches you. If you lose, you simply end up outside the forest, but not before a homage to the death cutscene of Slender The Eight Pages is played. While this isn't so much a secret as you return here after the main storyline, this is the only instance in which Slenderman will be the one to test you, rather than Slendreadead who takes it's place after the main storyline. If you do this with Slenderman being the one to test you, you'll be given a token that powers up Slendreadead when equipped. If you complete the test when Slendreadead gives it, you'll face Slendreadead than obtain it.
-Again, when you follow The Rake, the last time you bump into it you'll catch it in a conversation with HABIT, both talking about how things have been odd ever since a few years ago, but how somebody else seems to be entering the fray. They're about to mention who, until Rakreadead appears it challenges The Rake to a fight, The Rake seemingly killed by Rakreadead, as Rakreadead flees to meet up with Slendreaded for the final boss fight.
-In Gen IV, the final boss are based on combining Mecha, specifically the Megazord combinations of MMPR Season 1. If your character name is Geki, Goushi, Dan, Boi, Burai, (Male Characters), or Mei (Female Character), then you will see the final bosses speaking in Japanese and clearly acting sentient. This is a reference to Super Sentai, but what the Mecha's dialogue translates into being references to various other things as well, mostly in-jokes about both SS and PR.
-In Gen V, if you're named Pewdiepie, Yamimash, or Markiplier, DeltaMaster will reference numerous games that all three have played and how they played them before the final battle, all the while boasting about himself in the process.

Also due to delays, PZ will release with the first five Generations, probably at around a $1-$2 price or so, if not simply free of charge if too many delays occur between now and the finished game, well, finished as in the first five Generations being finished.

Edit: Because somebody deleted the post, I'll have to update what I just said here:

      Display Spoiler

      The Leveling and Exp System:
In Gen V, Levels go from 1 to 1,000, but before this the level cap is lower but increases up to 1,000 by Gen V. In Gen I it's 100, in Gen II it's 200, in Gen III it's 300, in Gen IV it's 500, then finally Gen V has it at 1,000. So, how does the Exp Yields of Zauridons work in that case? For one, Zauridons each have their own Exp Yields based on the species. Alienasaur has the highest Base Yield at 1,500, and for every 100 levels that's doubled until a final base yield of 768,000 at Levels 901-1,000. The Exp given by a single Zauridon depends on the level of said Zauridon, in which they will have the Base Yield of that Level Range times the Level the Zauridon is. So, Alienasaur at Level 1,000 will give 768,000,000 Exp, and at Level 100 it'll give 150,000 Exp. Some Zauridons DO have higher Exp Yields than Alienasaur, but Alienasaur is the one that is the highest AND most common to train against. For instance, Emperius is 3,000, Terranadrosus is 2,500, Dragora is 4,000, and Grandis 10,000 when at the Level 1-100 Range.

Zauridons can either gain more or less Exp depending on the lead Zauridon's (Highest Leveled) Level compared to the Lead Opponent Zauridon (Also Highest Leveled). For every 1 Level between 1 and 100 that differs from the opponent, the party as a whole will receive 1% less or more Exp for each level from a range of 1 to 100 Levels lower or higher than the Lead Zauridon. After reaching certain Milestones, the levels of Wild Zauridons will increase to match the Levels of the Party Zauridons. To do this, you must have at least 3 Zauridons that reach a specific Level Milestone. After reaching the first, you'll unlock the option to bring along 3 more Zauridons with you, but they cannot battle at all unless swapped with the battle party, but only outside of battle. These Zauridons gain half the amount of Exp that the Battle Party gets, and the Anti-Grind effect on the Exp only goes up to 50% less or more Exp for Rest Zauridons in the party as well. After reaching specific Level Milestones, you'll also receive certain rewards, be it mere achievements or continuation of the storyline, as the final bosses of that Gen is very likely to be closer to the current level cap than anywhere near 100 except for Gen I.
