Actually , I find facecams sometimes annoying.
Horror games are ok , but only if the facecam is of contributive value (showing you scared etc. at stuff).
I don't feel like looking how someone is playing a game with a total blankface or is a try-hard with being funny on the cam and such.

But using facecam can show that you actually worked on your video and didn't just whip it up in a few minutes.
-
Only if there's something good on the facecam and it's actually needed for the game.
If you just play a random flash game which doesen't give you any facial reaction, it's stupid. Especially if you TRY to be funny and just make random faces every now and again and be blank for half of the video (Which is pretty much what PewDiePie does) -
I like it as it gives a very personal taste to your vids and makes them more specialCheck out Video Game Close Up

I do not agree with this as it can cost just 2 extra minutes mixing the stuff together. Facecam doesn't equal quality or the amount you have worked on your videos imo.

Just recorded Portal with facecam.

Since when the fuck is Portal a game to record a facecam included LP on? Why would anyone make an LP for it anyway? Not saying it's a bad game, just not a game for LPing.

Games that give you feels, make you rage or make you scared require a facecam due to facial expressions and more personalization + adding entertainment value.
Cirno is correct, syncing/cropping of a facecam takes around 1-2 minutes.
Thou a facecam used in the correct way might make it more entertaining to watch, from this perspective makes the quality of the video a bit higher. -
Facecam is not needed at all unless its a horror game..
Like GameGrumps for example. They have great quality videos without annoying facecam. And there are perks to them not having facecam as people animate how they think they reacted or looked in the situation. -

Not when you record your facecam with an iPod Touch that can't record audio and takes like 20 minutes to transfer to PC and stretches clips so you have to cut random parts out -

Well the only way I can get extra credit is if I spend 20 minutes in each of my 15-minute videos explaining how I have to do facecam. -

I think facecam is nice in horror/rage games... tho' if you're cute like Pewdie (just a example) it's nice in every video!
This is just my very personal opinion xD I believe LPer can be successful without facecam too.
If you are as adorable as me.. it's a good idea.

Personally, I don't think a facecam is really needed, unless it helps to make your channel more unique, or interesting. Pewdiepie, as one, uses a facecam in every video, which I don't mind, as I don't really look at the facecam, but it may annoy others. I must admit though, a lot of the people I know like Pewdiepie, not only for his videos, but for his looks...A smile a day, keeps sadness away!
Come and have a good ol' cuppa with me... You know you want to ... -
Facecam is not needed and then editing gets easier. Though if you want to have facecam everywhere try to position it right. Somewhere it doesn't block things from the game HUD or so. (Sounds hard and it is)Amnesia Custom Stories , Home, Dead Space, Amnesia: Machine for pigs.

-Horror
-Wtf
-Rage
-Tear-Jerking
-Funny (I mean like, too damn funny that could makes you laugh easily)
If you're angry, don't break anybody's heart, they only have one..... Break their bones, they have 206 of them
