Scary Ass Games

How's it going bros?

I was wondering what the scariest game in recent memory you can think of is.

I've been playing "Grey" the Half Life 2 Episode 2 mod. My freaking gosh that game gets under my skin. It stresses me the hell out haha. I just recorded a bit more for more let's plays, and it just keeps getting more and more effed up.

Anyone else played grey? And anyone have any scary as hell games?

Nothing I've played has ever come close to that Grey mod. But maybe that's just the type of stuff that really gets me.

Btw. Everything is scarier in a nice headset.

Grey doesn't seem scary at all to me. Just jumpscares. And it's horribly unbalanced and the donator shotgun is OP.

But, Afraid of Monsters: Directors Cut is the only game that really scared me. (And made me scare-quit)

That fucking ghost jumpscare with the loud as fuck meow in the hospital...

Grey definitely has a ton of Jumpscares.

I feel like the headset is what really makes the jump scares eff with me. Sounds really trigger scares for me, and that game is full of creepy ones.

I'll have to check out that Afraid of Monsters game you mentioned though. If grey didn't do anything for you, i can only imagine what that game will do to me haha

I've heard of Grey and I've really wanted to play it! Unfortuanley I don't have half life 1 or 2 to mod XD I'm hoping they will go on sale soon! Both Grey and Afraid of Monsters sound really awesome!

Amnesia is the only game that has everyone truly consistently scared me. Though believe itor not, the original Portal gave me a couple sleepless nights back when.

I believe you can play it for free if you have Source SDK 2007 installed. I could be wrong.

Yes you can ... but there are texures missing and shit. Looks really ugly ... unless they "fixed" that by now.
However if you happen to have the files from half life 2 episode 2, from whatever source ... you can extract the needed textures and models.

For me I would say Fatal Frame 2, I mean it had tons of jump scares plus freaky music and feeling to it. The story helps out alot as well

Dead Space 1. The only game I was brave enough to play, and only cause I couldn't ignore it cause it was a gift. First 30 min= pausing the game before I had a stroke. Baaaaad jumpscares, especially from the vents.

Condemned: Criminal Origins freaks me out so much, I've given up playing it. The atmosphere is so oppressive and creepy that I just can't take it for more than half an hour

Little story, I was 8 years old and I was playing Tony Hawks' Pro Skater 4. I had just earned enough points to buy the grim reaper, and being 8 I wanted to unlock everything. So I unlocked him, and I got by far the biggest scare of my life (at that point). His deformed face, along with a massive sonic boom from the TV (I had it wayyyy too high) made me almost shit myself. As such, crying ensured. Never really got over it

Actual scary games, Silent Hill. Played the demo, could never play it since

For now, Amnesia was the only game where I felt occasionally uneasy so I just can recommend two good total conversations:

-White Night
-Amnesia Hill
Both of them are really worth playing.

I'm also looking for good horror games since I'm tired of jumpscares. Jumpscares are really cheap and it's not much fun. I like it when there's always this uneasy feeling, this insecurity and the knowledge that... something is there. This is why I like Amnesia. There are no cheap jumpscares and it's not boring.
