Aside from some more known shows such as Biker mice from mars and TMNT, I must say my all time favorite cartoons (which both turn out to be animes) were:

Alfred J.Kwak and Moomin (1990 TV series).
If you dont know the shows, lets just say they really taught something back then and left some scars haha.
Both shows are still pretty enjoyable to watch and compared to cartoons show in tv, they are in their own league.
