I am liking where he is going. he hasn't stopped playing Horror completely he is just trying different kinds. Honestly I was getting sick of the amnesia video's. I like that he plays more indie games then anything. Anyway guys i think some of you are forgetting this is HIS channel. he can do whatever he wants and I understand that you're a subscriber but there has to be change. Again I like that he is playing other games

Never had a problem with the games he plays, just with the seemingly scripted nature of his commentary. Plus he doesn't seem so homely anymore.

Of course it's his channel, and me as a viewer can decide whether or not to watch it. But he hasn't lost my sub yet, it's not like I'm not giving him a chance. Felix seems like a cool guy, and I can relate to him for being the awkward guy at school. Not only that he's an inspiration of mine for my own channel, so I won't be unsubbing him.

I don't want to see him succumb to money and fame. He seems too much like the bro next door and I can't help but admire it.

I prefer the videos he does these days than those years back. Simply because of the "characters" he has and it's fun. You watch him talk to inanimate animated things and you're having fun. Isn't that the important thing tho? Everyone have different perspective s toward things and it is in fact hard to please people. 3,000,000+ different people with different likes and dislikes. I think the reason why he's doing some requested games to be played is because he wants to please the majority of his viewers. His dedication to his work and bros is whats important. Don't you think?

Yeah that's true. I can't be bothered to do one video a day, let alone 2-3. His dedication is totally admirable.

But then again his vids put food on the table, so that adds a bit more motivation. I might get hate for this but I think he should go back to school. He can pay any tuition now.

I disagree. It's called criticism, and without it how would someone know the true quality of their content?

I personally love criticism, good and bad, as it let's me know what I'm doing right, or wrong. To be surrounded by yes men (motivated for their own reasons, be it to leech off of success or whatnot) is NOT constructive and will end in disaster.

I'm not insulting Pewdiepie nor do I think anyone else here is. To take our time to word constructive arguments is much better than 99% of the internet hate machine that lamblasts him. I'm sure you would agree.

The thing about this is that it's subjective, and a lot of the things that were said in this thread (not all) I think weren't that constructive.
Look, I can't speak for pewdiepie, but I do think it's presumptuous to tell someone "I like you how you were before, go back to being that way!" Because people change and the way people react to things change, and that's natural. Maybe it is true that Pewds is just being silly to get viewers, but I doubt it, since his viewrship was growing fast when he was playing horror anyway. He was getting popular from doing horror; if he really were all about money, he would play it sqfe and always do thw sane thing over and over qgain as long as it generated views. Moving away from your paat ways of entertwining people is a risk, not a move that can logically be called a sellout.

What's more likely is that now he's just gotten so used to and perhaps a little bored of horror games that he just doesn't react to them in the same way. I know certainly am less scared by your typical horror game than I used to be now that I've played a lot of them over the years.

So I would say, let Pewdie be Pewdie, and accept that he won't always be the same person he used to be, and also that he should be doing things and entertaining people the way he enjoys it the most! It:s not very helpful to say he should try to emulate the way he's been in the past if that nay not feel natural to him anymore.

And see, I like the work Pewdiepie has done recently as well. I've only been a bro q couple of months, but having watched through a great deal of his old stuff as well as new, his humor is better and more consistent in my opinion in his recent stuff. It's a matter of taste! And you can't really argue objrctively over that. So don't risk reading someone down because their tastes and preferences and decisions have changed and become different.

You're totally right dude. Most of this thread is a non-argument about each others opinions, as it were. :)
  • Simply put he has become a true entertainer/artist now. He took commentary to the next level in the gaming realm and continues to push it a bit further. Entertainers change, they have to, or people get bored. Just like getting bored with playing/watching the same games over and over again.
Entertainer's can't please everyone, but sometimes "new" or "different" take a while to sink in. For example, rock n' roll was the devil's music for a while and now it's quite mainstream and has developed so far. It's all about change and adaptation in the entertainment world, or else you drown. Just an unfortunate truth; not trying to be an antagonist. Facts is factsss. :D
  • Got to admit it is true

Yeah. I still watch the videos because its funny but it is true. It was pretty funny with the puppy and kitten treatment but he isnt playing horror games like he used to. He still makes my fridays and me laugh but i'd rather see him cry and scream and get the kitten traetment like he used to.
  • I both agree and disagree with this, I do agree that he has changed, and that he doesn't do the same thing he used to, however, as he has said before, there aren't that many horror games around now that he hasn't played, and I am glad he has moved to playing both, as he makes me laugh, and I also enjoy the digressions. Your point is very valid, and I can understand where it is coming from, but I just have a different opinion, each to their own eh? :)

But then again, it's his decision. All we could do now is support him all the way and respect whatever he wants to do with his career and his life.

or has pewds been kinda delayng with the yt vids O.o
also it kinda looks like he stopped playng horror games oftenly ;(

There's only so many horror games there is to play that are good, and if by delaying videos you mean uploading later, that's cause in Italy he get bad internet, so due to the large file size of his videos, it takes him like 2 hours to upload one video.

  • It's true, Pewdie has changed. Character development isn't limited to fiction. People grow, change, redirect themselves. True, Pewdie has become a bit more silly through time, but he's still the same on the inside. A Swede, scared out of his mind by horror games, who jumps at the scares, hurts himself, and makes us laugh. Sure, he's branched out, playing non-horror games. That was inevitable. You can please some people all of the time, please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please everyone all the time. If you don't like his change... I guess that's your problem.

tl;dr Inspirational bullcrap, possibly inflammatory remarks, slight Pewdie fanboy-ism.

  • You guys are right. He has lost some of his intrest in playing games as we have lost intrest in him playing games. He does fake a lot now and plays games that we don't like sometimes. That being said he is still Pewdiepie to me and I will continue to watch him because he is entertaining still.
  • I don't understand why people think he's "fake." How do you judge fake, and what does that even mean? It seems to me just that he's gotten more comfortable entertaining people and doing what he's been doing, and his persona has evolved with time. I don't think he has to play horror games and be terrified to be genuine while entertaining people. It seems like a bit of a jab at someone to call them "fake" just based on your conjecture and opinion. :P
  • I know I am a new member, but he's hilarious. However, maybe if he gets too busy talking to those characters he will miss something and then get jump-scared...But, he should still probably stop talking to those characters when they aren't there so he can invent new ones by mistake. Hey, I am a gamer that is Awesome, usually. Also, look at my image
It is awesome, right? IF NOT I WILL KILL YOU IN A VIDEO GAME A THOUSAND TIMES! Unless you are better than me.
  • Like it or not, by the time i have been in Internet, people would start to change of stuff. But of course, some people just take this change to a max level of b*tthurting and start saying ''OMG YOU'RE SO FAKE I'M GOING TO UNSUSCRIBE SO U DON'T GET ANY PIECE OF MONEY HAHUEHEUHEUHEU''. Sometimes, people start to change because of this facts:

-The game/theme of his/her videos are getting way too old, making the audience to lost attention and then there it goes, an old pro and adorated youtuber goes down becuase he/she wouldn't have any new idea to put in his/her youtube channel.
-They want to try something new. Most likely that's what Pew's doing, mostly.

  • Love reading this thread. Anyways, I got bored watching Pewdz when he started Nastarafu or whatever it is then came back when he started Barbie games or something before that game and I really enjoy watching him again. He changed, yes....all people do. heck, I know someone who's gloomy and serious like him then after a yr, screaming like a fucking baby whenever there's a little bit of jumpscare and it bored me. Someone posted here that when you are a partner and has a big channel, you tend to commentate after making a playthrough, I think it's about a debate or topic about walkthrough and let's play. I think he does that, not always but sometimes. The Sims 3 video is so fake. I don't know why, but it's just not legit live playthrough.

Nvm. Don't mind this. It's not ranting. I love Pewds. He's one of my inspirations to upload videos.
  • Alot of people posting in this thread make no sense. They're saying they want PewDiePie to change back to the way he was, before changing to the way he is now. That how he is now is too "fake".

    Well, consider this for a moment;
Everyone changes. Obivously, we know this. This is common sense. Especially if you're a videomaker. Look at any videomaker that has been doing it for a few years and you can see the difference. Better or worse is usually opinion-based. (Unless it's a new camera or something, but you know what I mean.)
If PewDiePie, subconsciously, has changed to a different way he was before, that is normal. We know this.
So, if he did exactly what you want him to do, and go back to the way he was, wouldn't that be faking it and greatly so?

Let videomakers be videomakers and let people be people. Don't try to change them based on your preference.
    Fear me.
