Resolution

What's up guys, I need your help with the resolution. whenever I uppload a video on youtube you can see on my videos that there's a black space in the both sides. Do you know why is it happening? I'm using fraps/movie maker to record and sony vegas to edit and I'm using resolution 1280x720 maybe that's the problem? Thanks for your help guys !

If your project resolution and footage resolution doesn't match, you'll have that problem.

To solve this, you can either change the project resolution by going to Preferences, or crop the footage video.

Thanks for your help bro, but the thing is I can't change the resolution in fraps, all I can do is change the fps and either choose full or small size.

change the resolution from 4:3 to 16:9.

How do I exacly do that? I'm sorry that I look like a dumbass right now, but I just can't find anywhere in Sony vegas where you can change your resolution or from 4:9 to 16:9. I did find something about video graphics that will change a difference , but not the resolution thing. :s

well , there should be something @ the project settings saying the resolution.

Either change it to

1280x720
or
1920x1080

If you wish to convert a file captured in 4:3 to 16:9 ratio , then right click and go to properties or something and tick one of the boxes off , It should say something like Keep/constraint properties, meaning it will keep the original ratio.

done out of my head so I might be wrong.
