  • Need some help about starting making let's play videos

Hey there bros, I've been watching PewDiePie for like 8 months now and I really enjoy it, though he really inspired me to do something myself, so I thought why not start making Let's Play videos? I've been looking for ways to keep myself busy, that's might be something I've been looking for ^^ So yeah guys, I'm getting a SteelSeries Siberia V2 headset, what do you think about the microphone quality? I checked out some videos on YouTube but the mic sounded different in every video so maybe someone here has this headset and could tell me more about it, like is it good enough to start making commentaries? One more thing, I've tried recording with Fraps and I think it's pretty good, what are the best settings I can use? (I have a crappy laptop though) Thanks.

Screw fraps get bandicam. Bad pc? No problem, play older games or games with lower specs.
Thanks mate, I'm gonna try using bandicam as you said, looks pretty good! And yeah, I'm gonna start with older games or games that don't require a good computer. What about the headset though?

You can use a cheap headset. If you know where to look, you should be able to find a pretty good microphone . Also for recording your voice you should use audacity, if you learn a few tricks in it, you could even make your own voice sound better. But that's only when you have a video editing software cause you have to put the sound file into the video.
<--- Oh, you hate me son?

Hmmmm, I see... Yeah, I've heard about Audacity, it seems to be pretty good. Can I have your Skype or something so we could chat about it sometimes or something? I would really appreciate that!
  • You've got a bad PC? Me too, and I manage to run LPs and games pretty smoothly. All you need to do is either lower the resolution or put the game in windowed mode...or both as I usually do.

For capturing mic stuff always go with Audacity. I swear by that thing. As for capturing game footage, I actually use MSI Afterburner because I find that unlike Fraps it doesn't puke out a video that ends up being umpteen gigabytes, and thus harder to edit and later on render.

Like Bundy if you want to Skype with me over anything I've said or any general stuff relating to all this, my Skype is ozzymandez.
