I currently have a GeForce GT 545 and it's loud as holy hell when playing games and my microphone easily picks it up. Can anyone recommend a quieter, cheap one?

Well that is kind of a hard question. I think buying an already used one can't hurt. I did that in the past. Try to find a website where you can buy used cards.
If everything else is a beast in your pc, then type the name of the videocard you're planning to buy, on youtube and see for yourself if it's worth it.

A lot of reviews on internet has "sound test". Anyways, Gigabyte cards are quiet and cool.
