sounds as if it may be one of xiphoses soldires. was it by chance an extremely dark color, occasionaly dripping black ooze? and a dark menacing voice that would occasionally gurgle?

"Xiphoses? I wonder if they have any connection to X?"

oh, you must be unfamiliar with our little encounter. Xiphos is the lord of terror and darkness, and leader of the nether realm. my s kinda sorta neice sent him into a portal back into his dimension when one of his soldires that only wanted a utopian world started attacking ours. he had good intentions, just acted poorly.

well that rouge soldire was but a spirit, and had to overtake a body. that body WAS me, but not any longer.

*shakes and stands up*um can i go with you guys out of here? I dont really know where i am in the school and yes that was what that thing looked like...i can be of help i have been walking in this school for awhile so i know some shortcuts and ways to avoid darkness but i dont know a way out. I would much rather be in a group then by myself.

most ;ole;y one of his scouts. an entire species in this realm. they are real pests, the scouts. always slipping in through cracks and ruthlessly murdering people. they are easily defeated by something, i just forget what...

I notice the mark.

I make an electric ball again while holding the key. The key turns into a grey, normal key.

"Here you go." I hand it back.

like a master key its possible. Only one way to find out right?*shifts my weight and thinks of doors that couldnt be opened* i think their is one on the second floor fourth room. i cant be so sure but hey at least i know one door that doesnt open*looks up at the group of strangers for reactions*

unlockable rooms? seems theres more to this so- called "school" than we thought.
