I tried to do a Let's Play earlier today and I just kept getting issue apon issue. This last time, I got a notification that I was running out of space on the drive that I was recording on and then my recording program just died. When I tried to review the final, it said it was 1.08 gigs and I couldn't play it. How big do Let's Play videos get once they're around 10-20 minutes? Can someone give me some advice? I use Hypercam 2. I was told it was good for emulators.
How big?

Try looking around for different programs.
I would use Fraps and record the desktop and when editing the footage, just crop so you could see the game
That could be a solution for you :3 -

I was gonna use Fraps, but firstly, I couldn't get it to work, and second, I had to pay to get it to record more than 10 seconds. And with the health issues I've been having for 2 years now, I can't afford to pay for anything.

I use Bandicam and Playclaw for everything lol.
Bandicam > Fraps

I used Fraps for an average of 10min to 20mins recording, with an external Hard Drive to save the recording in it. Usually it is around gigs but I use Sony Vegas Pro to render and compress to less then 1GB . However, Fraps is not free and used alot of space, you can always go for alternative like Bandicam, Playcraw, Wegame & Others

External Harddrive + Fraps full screen recording and 60 fps = win
But everyone haves their own favourites -
Bandicam blows chunks... XD or just feels like it, I only use it to record games FRAPS can't and that are windowed because Hypercam won't record win 7 audio on my pc due to no sound card? or somethin. I hate the box bandicam puts on your desktop with a passion. But I'm sure with more experience I can get around the problems I have with it.
Anyway, Hypercam I believe has a bug where it can't record of X amount of file space or the file is ruined. Another reason not to use it. That or record in shorter bursts, but limiting yourself sucks. -
I tried using Playclaw and it wouldn't allow the emulator to play. On another note, I don't have an external harddrive, and paying for programs is impossible for me right now, since current health issues prevent me from working.

I may be still very ill prepared, so I should probably just give up on Let's Plays for now. Work on getting some external HDs and such.
