That's about all I can really pull off the top of my head that I would consider as 'all time favourite' games. -
In my books Super Mario Bros. 3 will always reign as the best videogame ever. I just can't get tired of it. Perhaps it's also because it's one of the first games I can remember playing.
Other than that game, I also really like these games:
- Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (People that think this game is boring after a few matches obviously don't play it competitively)
- Xenoblade Chronicles (Best JRPG ever. So much to do, so much to explore. It took me 4 to 5 hours to do all sidequests in one area... Out of like... 18? XD)
- Final Fantasy XII (Best FF ever. This game rocks. So much sidequests, so much to see and do!)
- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ (All KH games are awesome, but this game allows to fight and have rematches against all Org. XIII members, which were without a doubt the best battles in the game.)
- Soul Calibur III (IV and V were nice too, but III had the best singleplayer experience.)
- Bayonetta (I don't generally like Hack n' Slash, but God, this game is great.)
- Super Meat Boy (The only game where I don't mind dying over and over. I somehow have tons of patience for this game. xD)
- Scott Pilgrim vs. the World the Game (Not the best game ever maybe, but I like it nonetheless!)
- Any Professor Layton game (These games are awesome. They have well-written stories and I like the colorful cast of characters.)
- Pokemon (Heart)Gold and (Soul)Silver (Best Pokemon games to date. Nothing can beat the Johto region.)
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Best Zelda game.)
- Donkey Kong Country 2 (Best DKC game ever. All are great though!)
- Banjo-Kazooie (Great level design, lovely characters, awesome music.)
I think that's about it for me. I've played a lot more games than those I listed, but these surely belong to my favorites. -
Bayonetta: So much fun, I easily spent hours playing
Elder Scrolls series: Fun little sandbox to waste time in.
Soul Calibur 3: Best one in the series in my opinion.
Dark Soul: PRAISE THE SUN, BITCHES.
Pokemon: Anything pokemon. <_> Old, new, as long as it isn't a shitty knock-off.
.hack: And if you disagree I will data drain the shit out of you
Tales of Vesperia: Surprisingly likeable characters, solid gameplay, a shitload to do, and costumes. Dose costumes.
Some of the earlier Final Fantasies: Would play again.
Left 4 Dead 2: Grabbin' pills. Stealin' kills.
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess: Yes, I like TP. If that's a crime, then lock me up and sue me.
Dragon Age Origins: What it lacks in graphics it makes up for it story and worldbuilding. And letting me skip recruiting the two party members I hate. That's very nice.
Now come and see divinity
Where night turns day so far away from heaven -

-Castlevania SotN

-Silent Hill
-Resident Evil 3

If you're angry, don't break anybody's heart, they only have one..... Break their bones, they have 206 of them -
A bit of a tough one, this question. I could drone on and on over all the video games that have captured my heart...hmm, but to keep it short and sweet---
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
I won't lie, I've never touched a MGS game before hand, I've seen it played, never really registered on the radar. After I picked up my Playstation 3 that happened to include it, I was hooked the very moment I begin it. The storyline, characters, plot development, music, and let us not forgot the ending! Everything flowed so brilliantly with this game, I was overjoyed. This one truly did pull me into the game, hell I even shed a tear towards the end. A wonderful masterpiece and rare gem stone in my collection.
Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon! /// Goemon's Great Adventure
Both of these oldies were for the N64, and trust me, I know it's odd throwing in these wacky games within the likes of MGS4. Even odder that I would choose these 2 over their multitude of glorious N64 game comrades. However, these two hold an especially special place in my heart, what with their off-beat humor, zany storyline, lovable characters, and an epic romp through mystical japan? Why yessir. I'll still catch myself on odd occasions posing dramatically to the sky declaring, "Go! GOEMON IMPACT!" ...Then sheepishly remove myself from the scene.
Viewtiful Joe 1-2
And finally, here we are with one of my all time favorites. Everything about this game and its sequel rocks tits, to say the least. Another oddball in my categories, you assume the role of real-life theatre goer - turned movieland kickass superhero Viewtiful Joe! The action controls and how you can combine them to form even greater and innovative attacks to take down your enemies, coupled with the groovy music flowing through your bones, it's a win-win enough for me to scream out merrily, "HENSHIN A-GO-GO BABY!" My only regret is I'll (as well as many other fans) probably never see the third and final chapter to this amazing series.Picking a peck of pickled peppers from Peter Piper who had a peck of pickled peppers to spare...FROM HELL! -
Posted here before but eh.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
GTA IV (expansion packs too) and GTA SA
Half-Life 1 (Blue Shift and Opposing Force too)
Doom 2: Hell on Earth
InFamous 2
The House of The Dead 2 and 4.
Resident Evil 4 (beaten it in around a day or so, take that)
White Day
And probably loads more. -
I've seen lots of good lists and I'm still forward to play a lot more classic games (like Panzer Dragoon Saga, LOZ: Ocarina of Time, Bioshock, etc.), but I can state here some of my favourites of all time:
Baldur's Gate 2 (the precursor of the best RPG's we see nowadays)
Deus Ex (enough said?)
Chrono Trigger (mindblown all the way, and has one the hardest bosses of all time)
Crash Bandicoot series (sorry to Mario fans, but this guy rocks a lot more in every way)
Spyro the Dragon series (I love dragons, what can I say?)
Final Fantasy (especially 4, 6, 7 and 9)
Silent Hill (love Pewdie for playing this right now)
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion (not on Skyrim yet)
Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings
Company of Heroes
Diablo 2 (I love when Hell breaks loose in any game)
I guess I have a lot more to write, but those are the "top of mind" ones -
It's very hard for me to pick favorites but...
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (I believe it was the first game I ever played, still love it today!)
Pokemon series (Yellow version was my first handheld game <3)
Silent Hill series (I really enjoy 2, 3, and Homecoming. 4 is a bit of a letdown, I've not played 1, and Downpour is okay I guess)
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Definitely the game of the year for 2011, AMAZING single player experience!)
Resident Evil 4 & 5 (I love both of these games, despite what people say about the latter. Operation Raccoon City was okay too)
Halo series (I like most of the Halo games, except for 3. The third one got very boring to me after Reach came out.)
Persona 3 & 4 (Simply some AWESOME turn-based RPG games with neat plots, cool characters, and just...engages you in it)
Eternal Sonata (Pretty unique RPG with a cool MUSICAL theme. That's right...music RPG. Classical though, so stay away if you hate that genre)
Condemned 1 & 2 (Pewdie has played them, you guys have probably watched him play them, and I think they're great psychological horror games!)
Fallout New Vegas (I like 3 also, but New Vegas is just...better.)
Shadow of the Colossus (Do I really need to say why this is EPIC?)
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (It's a newer game, it's a lot like Assassin's Creed, but it's fantastic and I really enjoyed it!)
Final Fantasy series (I only really got into this in high school, and man...ever since then, about 6 years ago when XII came out, I've loved the games. Played almost all of them!)
Devil May Cry 3 & 4 (I haven't played the first 2, but 3 & 4 were amazing. I don't know how the new reboot game will be, but I doubt it'll be the same...)
Mass Effect series (I know that people have been slightly let down with 3, but I haven't even finished it yet. This series is just one of the most fantastic storytellers I've ever played!)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Now, the reason I didn't pick any others is because of one thing: setting. This one had a much darker theme to it, and I really enjoy dark themes. The whole Twilight thing just...amazed me. I honestly didn't like Ocarina of Time or Majora's mask nearly as much as this one!)
Kingdom Hearts series (For a whole lot of people, this series really just holds a special place. For me, I love almost everything about it, except the wait for the next MAIN numbered title >:| )
...I think that's about all for me that I can remember. If I remember anymore, I'll make a second post. Lol. -
