Lol depends on what nose-piercing it is , if its a nose ring , no offence , thats ugly.

Although you are 18 , you still live with your parents. So its just common sense that your dad doesn't allow you to have a dog , since it is his house and not yours (well , it is yours , but you don't pay the bills and the house isn't registered on your name etc.)

The best advice I can give you is to ignore your grumpy dad and just resume your life (but don't get more tattoo/piercings etc. , he might be serious with throwing you out)

From what I've read he seems over-protective [maybe a little bit "old school"]..
Try approaching the thing slowly,or use an excuse.
Example: I saw a mouse running around the house,we need a cat or a lion,or something like that. :V

Honestly I think it's wrong of your dad to throw you out for making changes to your appearance. Sure he can say what he thinks about it, but verbally assualting you for it or treating you differently or throwing you out cause of a tattoo is just wrong, IMO.

About the dog, I can understand. Maybe he doesnt like dogs, it's kinda like getting another kid. It's almost impossible to pretend it's not there, plus depending on what dog it is, it could make alot of noise or damage to the house which is his to pay for.

Move into a friends house... And I wouldn't recommend getting a dog or cat if you have no job. It's a big responsibility, and a lot of money, which it sounds like you don't have.

I say you should pack your stuff and get the hell out of there. That is the only option. You're old enough to make your own decisions, right? You should not let your parents control you.

People like him will never understand the beauty and art of piercingly and tattoos. Not allowing you to have a pet is just so pathetic. I have so much respect on how you can manage to cope with that.

Piercings/Tattoos don't look good when going for a career/job. It gives people the wrong idea about you. Sure you may look badass, but at a price.
On the other hand, you can have a badass life.

If you get a job and start paying board (posh term for rent) maybe you could demand some sort of say around the house (maybe not to the extent of buying a pet). Other than that you have two options:

1 - Stand up to him: I once had to stand up to my over-protective Mum, I couldn't go ANYWHERE without letting her know where, who with, what I'd be doing and I had to be back for 9pm and I was 14... I'm now 17 and I go out to night clubs (I don't get ID'd :p) and more often than not, stumble through the front door pissed out my brains at 5am XD Now that's true freedom

2 - Move out :3

For the tattoos and piercings, if you really want one you will probably have to move out (i know alot of people said this but that seems to be the only option) For the animal thing its your fathers house even how much i like animals you can't get one without his permission since he still pays for the house(or apartment dunno which you live in)

Moving out sounds like the best option, get a job that pays well, and you should have enough to pay for rent, or maybe move in with a friend or something

Knowing full well how difficult things are job wise and everything else, honestly I would say the best option is to move out. It would save a lot of disputes and after you move out you pretty much can do what you want. About pets, I was in your position when I first wanted a snake, I even went as far as proving how serious I was but at the end of the day it was my parent's house and their rules. The only time I managed to get one is when I moved out.

If you don't like their rules, get a good job and move out. I know it's easy to say and difficult to do but that's the only way If you still live with them and you don't respect their rules you'll be arguing with them for the rest of your life
