Well my friend just bought me grand theft auto IV from steam and i have to pay him back but whats driving me up the wall is that when i start GTA IV i log into live it says downloading my account then it puts it on my log in list but when i click it it gives me an error and when i do get lucky enough to log in i try to connect to live and when i do it asks me to update so i do and after the update i restart my computer when i come back on log on to steam and get in GTA IV it shows its loading on the mouse then it stops then the mouse loads again and it shuts down the game is it the windows live update thats killing me because my friend and i are dieing to play multiplayer

Ill have to do it later my computer is slow and laggy right now and internet is constantly shutting down on me so ill have to do it maybe tomorrow but thanks for the help i have .NET and im sure i have windows live but DX 11 I dont know i might have to check on that

Ok ill fill you in a little more the games for windows live version i have now works but when i try to connect to my live it will not download my account and when it does after a couple of tries for me to connect to live it asks me to update so i update it when it's done with the newer update i always restart my computer and when i log on to steam and try to play the game i put in my social club Id and then click play it loads it shows it but then it doesnt pop up and it loads again and shuts down the game and it wont let me play the game at all im trying to figure it out as best as i can but what ever i try fails i tried updating from outside the game i tried reinstalling games for windows live i even tried redownloading the game and nothing works its the update if there is something that can fix this that will be most helpful because i dont want my friend to waste 20 dollars on a game for me and i cant play MP and i owe him back so this will be helpful if there is a patch and im able to sign in and connect to live to play MP
