I like the croc vid. I think it's important to just play and do commentary on things you like. If you're not having fun with it then there's no point. So if you want to do Croc then I think its cool. Also you outro song sometimes is louder than your voice, like in the amnesia video on the front page of your channel.

I personally just like Skullcandy Ink'ds. 20$, 3 sizes, tons of colors, feel nice, aka you don't feel them at all and sound great. I don't know about BEST though. I really came to this thread hoping there were more answers XD.

I'm no expert on these engines but I think Unity is a fairly common one used for these games. It has a free version, which is probably good enough for what you want to do but I'm not 100% sure. unity3d.com/ You'll probably get some better answers here soon because there are quite a few bros on this forum making their own games

I don't know if these are genres but this is pretty much the styles of people I've seen on youtube: 1. Let's Players - Playing the game with some form of commentary and tries to add a little entertainment to it. 2. Achievers - 100% the game, play on ridiculous difficulties, or show how to get achievements and all that stuff. Speed Runs would also be in this. 3.
