if sony vegas 10 is too overwhelming for you start out with camtasia, it's very easy to use. and if you render in 1280x720 then you get 720P HD with no black bars, and if you render in 1920x1080 for 1080P and things always take long to render, sometimes when I make intros for people it can take up to 5 hours for a 10 second intro...so don't complain
