In response to the OP, I'm not a fan of Bright Backgrounds, my TV is like 37" which is also my monitor, so the brightness is just TOO much on my eyes, I much prefer a dark background, but I reckon the grey font could do with being a more Silver tone, as your right its really hard for your eyes to focus and pull the words of the dark background

I highly recommend getting a Blue Snowball Ice, they are also very cheap, Around £50, There is also a Blue Snowball, which has 3 custom settings for recording audio Which unless you also did Dual Commentary or Music Recording you may not have a need for, but of course the Snowball will be more expesnive than the Snowball Ice amazon.co.uk/Blue-Microphones-…-Microphone/dp/B006DIA77E
