CS: GO vs. CS: S
DivinityArcane - - Other
PostQuote from Kneesocks: “Also you know what makes CS: S better for trolling? A shitload amount of kids and the so called "Teamflashing" , epic lulz guaranteed. xD” Oh god, all the times we had to ban nades in general on CS 1.6 servers.. It's like throwing a flashbang at a wooden box is pretty damn exciting to some people.

CS: GO vs. CS: S

PostWell, I actually had the option to work on Quake Live (Online) a while back. It's alright, pretty convenient for challenging friends on the fly. I still love Q3A the most out of the Quake series, next to Quake 2. Lag is lulzy. I got flashbanged on CS: S and then lagged for four whole seconds. Oh the rape when I unlagged... I did get two headshots from a Clarion spray at the same time I died, though. Wish I still had dem skillz

PostQuote from EliteInterpunct: “I remember playing UT on the dreamcast with the PC peeps! :D” Haha yup. Unreal and Quake raised the bar for multiplayer FPS games. Man, all those servers.

PostQuote from DarkRaven13: “Quote from DivinityArcane: “Quote from EliteInterpunct: “To be totally honest I thought BF2 was he FPS game everyone played back then. I know CS is pretty big but is it bigger than BF2 in the PC only glory days?” CS predates BF2 by roughly five years. When it comes to multiplayer FPS games, CS was a pioneer. Also, in CS, you can't win based on the weapon you choose. It's skill based. If you don't know how to play, you won't win.” Don't forget about Quake :)” Oh man, fun …

PostQuote from EliteInterpunct: “I've never played CS How bad of me is it that I've never played it? Although I've played a bit of TF2 and a fair amount of L4D2 I know it's not the same thing.” Not bad, to be honest. A lot of people haven't. What they don't realize, is before MW3, we had CS. CS 1.6 really was the beast that brought popularity to the multiplayer FPS genre. Quote from Jobeh: “While I like CS:GO, I just like the feel of CS:S more to be honest.” ^

CS: GO vs. CS: S
DivinityArcane - - Other
PostYeah, sorry. And no, the movement in general was smoother. Walking in CS can sometimes be glitchy. Anyway, I really like CS: S. There's not a lot of difference from 1.6 and that's what I wanted.

CS: GO vs. CS: S

PostYeah, because it was just a decision between CS: S and CS: GO rather than all of them. CS: S is basically CS 1.6 redone, and it really holds to the 1.6 gameplay.

CS: GO vs. CS: S
DivinityArcane - - Other
PostWell, after trying CS: GO and CS: S on a friend's computer, I went with CS: S + GMod. While CS: GO is pretty nice, the guns just didn't feel right to me. The movement seemed smother, but it was also a bit odd. While people will still detest this, I still think it shares some aspects of COD now (which isn't that bad a thing, but I like traditional CS gameplay, and CS: S was closer to that [in my opinion.]) Thanks for the input guys.

PostQuote from Mega_hyp3rrr_808: “Css if you like playing mods like zombie mod and stuff, but CS:GO if you like the classic CS gameplay and feel” Hmm, out of curiosity, what makes you feel that CS: GO has more of a classic CS feel to it?

PostQuote from DarkRaven13: “Counter Strike GO is a new game, maybe you have to wait some months until Valve release a modding tool for CS: GO. CS is a community / mod driven game. So, I think Valve will make CS: GO a fully mod able game just like Source. Yes, I agree, CSS is fun because of the mods. I still enjoy playing CS Source than GO, now because it doesn't have custom maps / skins.” No, that's not the issue. The issue is that the vast, VAST majority of mods are created for the Source engine, …

PostQuote from Kneesocks: “Quote from DivinityArcane: “That's another thing that pushes me away from it, no Source SDK. So, no Gmod, which I don't mind, but since I'm basically re-buying games, I'm not trying to buy a literal shitload of games for no reason. CS: S + GMod package on steam is appealing, but I'll wait to hear a bit more from people who actually own the two.” Thats the reason why people avoid CS:GO. enough reason for that alone. Source SDK is needed for custom gamemodes/maps. What makes…

PostWell, that's why I'm asking. I haven't played CS since 1.6. Also, what's the deal with it saying it requires 3GB of ram? lol

CS: GO vs. CS: S

PostYeah, most people have been telling me to get CS:GO because of the better graphics, which is why I said it. Sure, it's nice to have okay graphics, but not at the price of losing traditional CS gameplay.

PostA question that's been asked many a time.. Anyway, since I had to make a new steam account, I'm wondering which one to get. CS: S + GMod or CS: GO. While CS: GO has better graphics, from what I've seen the gameplay isn't really as traditional as CS: S, and it kinda seems COD like.. Anyway, votes?
