  • Is this a good PC still?

You'd need to replace the Motherboard, RAM and CPU all in one as we're on DDR3 and new sockets now. The PSU is also sub-par, you'd need a much higher wattage and also need to ensure you don't get some cheap brand that'll die down the line or won't have the right connectors (nothing like finding your 750W PSU only have one PCI-Express connector when you need three). If it's just for development though? Sure, why not. That GPU seems a bit too strong for the PSU though, mind you.

For the love of god please save an extra $100 or whatever and get a Solid State Drive to use for your system drive. You do not want to be spending that amount of money on a PC and then have it slow down because you only have one HDD that also acts as your system drive.

Quote from moo: “It seems like all these kind of projects never get finished or just goes very slow.” Generally those who post team requests don't realise how much work even the simplest of games require. I did a little platform based fighting game last semester and the collision detection alone took ages to perfect, and this was for a 2D game with a single level.

PLEASE look around on the forum there allot kind of threads like this with " I am making a game please help ". You could better help them out then starting at your own an new one. But okey it's your choice. Good luck.” I honestly cannot stress this enough. The amount of people I see asking for a team to help them make a game is astounding. "Great, you have a game idea..…

  • Quote from Shikieiki Yamaxanadu: “image” The only issue with that design is that it's not centred. It is fit for purpose, to show search results, etc, in a clean and easy to read way. And yes, professional, they don't hire any old Joe off the street, these people are professional designers with years of experience in the field. The iJustine page shown in the OP actually shows that they are making considerably more use of space than they used to, which is great. As for customisation, honestly I'm…

  • What's... wrong with it? It's a good design, the only reason anyone is moaning is because it's not what they're used to. It utilises space well, it's very clean and pleasing on the eye, and gives you access to plenty of menu options without being cluttered. Google's designers are professionals, they know what they're doing.

Not much makes me register on a board just to help someone randomly, but when you use the <font> tag I pretty much cannot resist wiping that atrocity of a tag from the face of the planet. Few things first: 1.) Learn jQuery, it's basically a go-to with Javascript these days. Changing an image's source is literally: Source Code (1 line) 2.) Use the <span> tag, the <font> tag is heresy and should be treated as such. Source Code (1 line) 3.) Instead of an if for each name, if they're all the same va…
