This may not be the IDEAL gaming set-up, but it's what i use. I use a sennheiser hd pro e835 microphone(w/ boom mic stand and pop filter) and I position it right in front of my face when I'm doing videos. I use Sennheiser HD Pro headphones as well. I feel like this blows most gaming headphones out of the water.

Facecam is over-rated. Unless you have some overall great facial expressions, it's not recommended. Some horror games are good, but having it all the time takes away from the game.

I feel like video games should be video games for a reason. When you make it into a movie, a lot of times they throw a bunch of random shit in there that never happened or had characters that never even existed(ie:Resident Evil). Unless the movie is going to follow the game to the letter. Don't bother making it into a movie.

The Let's Play/Gamer market is oversaturated nowadays. Everyone is doing what you're doing and it's hard to fight for subs/views. I have a short 8 second intro that I made in Adobe After Effects. The outro is the selling point though. Mine has video in video where I can display 3 of my previous videos along with subscribe/playlist/whatever buttons to annotate and such.
