This is a dumb question, but how do I tell what kind of encoding I'm using?

Hey guys. Just a quick question/rant for you to see if maybe you can help me. When I play/record my videos the brightness looks perfectly fine and even in the editing software it looks alright.(I may have to adjust slightly for Amnesia) Other than that I don't touch the brightness settings. However, my last few videos keep showing up darker on YouTube and when I try to use their auto-fix option, it looks like crap. Why does it do that?

Well the thing with that, with recording an hour and then splitting it into 4 15 minute videos, it would just jump into the next video, I like giving intros and outros to all my vids.

I suppose you're right. I just don't have all the time in the day to record videos (job/school/etc) so when I do get the time, I record about 30 minutes of footage. I usually try to play 3 games at a time and I guess I like to keep it fresh and beat games sorta fast so I can enjoy the next one.

Well shit. All my videos are around 30 mins give or take. Do you think that's why I don't have as many viewers?

Hey guys. Just curious on a couple of things and I thought I'd get some feedback from my fellow gamers. When you record and upload your content onto YouTube, do you like to have longer video segments or shorter? I personally prefer longer videos(30 minutes is where I usually stop) that way I can get as much as i can in a video, it's a good thing for longer games I suppose. However, I'm burning through RPG Maker games in 2 videos or so. Thoughts on this? Thanks everyone. -TL

So I've been torn lately about facecamming. I've been using a cam for virtually all of my LP's(except for my RPG Maker ones.) I enjoy having it, but at the same time does it hinder my videos? I feel more comfortable doing commentary when I know I'm not constantly being looked at, but then again maybe you connect more and feel like you're viewing a real person when you see me. Thoughts/Complaints/Ideas? Much obliged. -TL

So I'm just curious about something and I swear this isn't me whining just curious to people's opinions. I've noticed that after posting my YouTube channel in the YouTube section of the site, I've gotten a lot of views, but no feedback or response. Other people's threads however do. Am I doing something wrong or is it to be expected since I'm new? Like I said, not whining/fishing for views just curious if I need to change something. Thanks guys. -TL

I render in 1080p, but then again the program I use uploads rather fast so I guess it all depends on your set-up.

I just recorded my LP of The Witch's House. I'd say use the program I use, but it's only for Mac sadly.

Well like I said. Earlier I was uploading a video. I use a program called "Screenflow" It's editing/sharing/recording all in one. Well usually it will have an exporting time(which varies between an hour to 20 minutes) and an uploading time(which usually takes an hour or more). The exporting took the normal time but the uploading was saying like 3 hours. It was taking forever.
