Probably? Again, he said he got the error message "Disk error", so it obviously is that. And the disk is a SATA disk. And yes, a 9 - 7 year old HDD is nothing worth keeping, although, HDD's are rather expensive nowadays because of the shortage in production, anyhoodles, change that and maybe you'll have to do some reformatting or installing and stahffs, it should be fine if you get rid of your old disk.

I don't know why you guys bother asking for specs and stuff, it said disk error, so it's obviously a disk error, you said you had an old HDD or if you said SSD I can't be arsed to re-read but, post your name and age and all that good stuff of your disk(s).
