    • Creator may close the thread

The bro who opened a thread in the Suggestions may also close it,
I was thinking of a box where you can set a tick.
      Like this: [✔] Close thread.
The staff team would no longer have to close everything on their own.

    • But I was talking about the Suggestions section, if no mod is online the owner can instantly close it if he saw that the game was already played or suggested.

    • That's not really a feature that many forum board hosting sites really give (I at least know this of freeboards, vbulliten, invisionfree, and phpbb -- having been an admin or moderator of several different forums that ran off these hosts), to be honest. While it is a nice idea, it's not a power that can usually be granted to normal members unless the admins choose to give someone the power to moderate something. All you can really do is just request that a thread be closed and wait.

    • Well... as stated... it's not a power that can usually be granted without making the member a moderator themselves. And then they wouldn't have only the power to close just their own thread, they'd have the power to close anyone's thread. So... it actually is a power that would be abused if granted to the wrong person. *shrugs* Again, it's a nice idea -- just not one that forum boards can actually have all too well without granting a moderator rank to an individual. Besides, I kind of like the idea of having people having to send in a request to close threads, or even post to their thread to have a moderator close it -- personally, anyways. Imo, it helps the other admins and moderators filter out who actually does their job and is capable of remaining as staff.

Well, can't it be done so you, as thread OP, can only close the thread YOU created? You don't need to be Mod or Admin for that. It seems kinda simple to me.

but let say that some OP's are not intellectual as other people to keep it nicely. totally not closing etc.
So? It's his/hers loss then. If he makes and idiotic thread, then posts some crap. Then closes it, what does we as good and mature members lose? Nothing. We can just flag the thread and it can be removed and the user banned/warned.

You totally understand me mate, this is exactly what I think. It's just an additional feature if you use it or not.. it's up to you.
And you can't abuse it as PolarBear said, because it's your own thread, if you think it doesn't matter any longer, you can close it.
