    • Games working for older computers?

      Hi bros!

      Well... óuò''
I got a Packard Bell computer from 2002.. like you can guess, it.. kinda doesn't support that many games.. xD

I went and looked around internet for information about graphics and such on it, because i don't really know that myself.. i'm not much of a pro with computers.. ^ ^'' My mom probably know about it, but she's asleep now..

      Anyway, this is what it says;

      Intel P4 2GHz Processor
      256MB DDR RAM
      40GB Hard Drive
      SIS 650 64MB Shared

      17'' Monitor (15.8'' viewable screen)
      MS Worksuit 2002

And i got Windows XP installed on it.

Now some things might have been changed in it during all these years, so there's a chance some of that stuff isn't really all too correct X(

We've got Sims 3 to work on it once, though a bit laggy. Spore(with Creepy and Cute + Galactic Adventures) works fine, Sims 2(with all packs and stuff) works fine.. yeah.. :I

I've tried installing Amnesia, but it crashes the second i press 'launch'. Same with the Demo. eAe

SCP works though, but it crashes after a while.

      So i wonder, do any of you bros know some games in the style of Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Amnesia and such that could work on a computer like this? I would be really happy if someone did.. being a gamer with almost no games isn't really fun.. ;u;

(Yes, my English and computer knowledge fails.. i'm very much aware of that e3e'')
This is one world. And we're one people..
we should try to share it peacefully instead of being so freaking ego about it~ .3.

    • Unfortunately with the specs you got right now, there's little to zero chance of today's games working on your PC.

I would suggest on saving your money and buy a custom one that your mom or any of your friends who knows their way around computer that can build. That way, while they work on the computer, they can tell and show you which parts goes where and how it works.

I would suggest on newegg.com/ they got pretty much everything to allow you make a one of a kind PC.

    • I have an AMD Turion x64 1.6ghz with 4gb of RAM installed.
160gb HDD and that's all in a laptop.

I also think that this laptop is too weak to run most modern games.
But i can run Amnesia in 15fps. Why can't you?
I can run SCP on 30fps, without any crashes YET YOU DO?
      Also, i have Windows 7.

Oh my goodness, You can do better than my laptop O_O
Look at my Avatar, and yes my face is lovely
    • when i had a gateway, arcanum always worked for me. maybe if you look rlly hard on google you can find the program that lets you play without the cd. idk though. my brother set me up with it what seems like a thousand years ago. and what sucks is i dont have that comp anymore. i dont think ill ever have as good of a thing going as far as thats concerned. :(

      im that one guy.
    • Ok, i have almost your exact specs, so anything i can run, you can run, here is a list of the games i play, also, you have a processor with a larger cache than mine, so kudos.

      Games i play:
      Silent hill 1-2
      Deus ex
      Pirates of the carribean
      nazi zombies portable
      Civilization 3
Soldier of fortune double helix <---- best fucking game. EVER. the ghoul system for the limbs epic... the story by far better than any of the latest games and the randomly generated maps are actually WORTH playing.
All Rpg maker games upto rpg maker XII
      Delver
ace of spades(Minecraft WONT work, like others said, cause you lack pixle shaders, thus it will be buggy as hell, thats if it even starts)
      Morrowind <--- also epic sauce
      First spiderman
Harry potter series upto goblet of fire
      Max payne 1 & 2
      Duke nukem Manhattan project
medal of honor: Allied assault <--- bought it only for the Omaha beach fight. and the stealthy part
Half life 1 as mentioned, dont bother with 2, lighting wont work with your card.
Tomb raider angel of darkness and all the older ones in the series.

      As for MMO's:
      Runescape
      Adventurquest
      Battleon
Battleon worlds (lags with slow internet)
      Pokemon world online
      digimon tamers
Pirate king online aka Tales of pirates

As for flash games, most of the newer games require pixel shaders or vertex shaders so your better off sticking with anything released at the time of The last stand 1 or 2.

Hope you find something worth playing XD

    • ^Those games too.

Some SOCOM games. the first games.
Splinter Cell (GAME IS REALLY GOOD!)
      PSX games
      Battle Realms
      Red Alert 2
      Diablo II (Shit's the best)
      Dem "DASH" games.:))

And I don't recommend you to play Spore or some heavy game since it might burn your cpu or might cause some breakdown with your PSU.

I can suggest a lot. Why? Because we almost have the same PC. But I bought a new one.xD
    • I would try to get Oblivion, thats the Elder Scrolls IV, the one before Skyrim, it has mods wich makes it run more smoothly, so maybe any lag you encounter can be modded out.
Besides that you should try Morrowind, the Elder Scrolls III, it came out in 2002, so it should be fine, it would really take some getting used too, but it's one of my favorite games ever ;)
    • There are lots of games you can play on a old computer, especially if you have XP. If you had Vista or newer you'd be SOL. But because you have XP you can actually play a lot. There are a ton of really great older games that get over looked due to the fact that they don't have shiny brown graphics, or don't run or newer systems. After all, a few years ago we didn't have computers that could send missiles into space while you played Team Fortress 2 and updated iTunes.
If you're still looking for some games that run on a older computer, and you don't mind older games message me. I'll be happy to help you, or anyone else looking for the same thing, find some games they'd be happy with.
