Hey guys !

I'm new here and I need help.


I'm trying to make my own custom story for amnesia but I am encountering an error... Each time I try to launch the map, instead of respawning, my playing keeps falling through the floor.

I searched on a lot of websites and forums but I can't fix this problem.

Any thoughts ?

Yes I did.

I tried to set my spawn point into the floor, a little bit high above the floor, and even just underneath the ceiling.

Nothing changes, I am still falling through the floor. It really pisses me off
A primitive plane with the "mansionbase" material. It's Y position is 0 and I ticked the "collides" box.

This is exactly what I did but it does not work...

I clicked primitive, then I loaded the floor texture in static objects, mansionbase, as you said.

I am at work, I'll give it another try this evening.

I dont know either what's wrong...

I'll post a screenshot this evening.

I am so motivated to create my own custom story. Being stuck at the beginning is really frustrating u_u

Yes I did. My spawn point name is "PlayerStartArea_1" and in my custom_story_settings.cfg I have written StartPos = "PlayerStartArea_1".
Neither do I... I already tried to create a new plane and nothing changed, still falling through the f###ing floor

I tried to create a new map and this time it worked. There is nothing to understand !

Hey guys it's me again !

I prefer using this topic to discuss my other amnesia custom story issues rather than creating a new one.


Basically, what I want to do is to create sort of a flashback when my character enters a specific area of the map. The screen would blink a couple of times, then the character would look towards an object (to a table which is on his right) and a text would show up on the middle of the screen.


I created a flashback.flash file in which I wrote the following:



I know Voicesound and EffectSound are empty, this is because I have not created any sounds yet.

In my extra_english.lang file I have:



The screen blinks but I can't get the text to show up on screen. I don't understand what I have done wrong... For the turning of the head, I'll search how to do it later.

By the way, my flashbacks.flash is located in c:/program files (x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Amnesia The Dark Descent/flashbacks
