'chips' means something different in different countries. In the usa "chips" is a thin sliced baked/fried pieces (another less common type is thin sliced fruit. example: banana chips). In another contrie "chips" is a grain type snack (like the state's "cracker"). In places like the UK "chips" are thick cut strips of potato fried (what the US call 'fries'). Another "chips" is thinly sliced vegetables like carrots, beets, zucchini, eta. .

The point is "chips" is a vague term and you might want to classify what "chips" you mean.
