Haven't heard of this problem ever before... umm how old is your computer? and its a desktop right?

Do you use a desktop of laptop? if it's a laptop, its mostly likely an integrated graphics cannot be replaced easily.

EDIT: Also was your computer custom made or bought already built?

You said you need to run Amnesia again. So you mean you could run it before you did this update scan?

If that is the case, i guess all you have to do is reinstall your drivers and then you should be able to play amnesia again

Strange a laptop with integrated running amnesia at all but anyway... Would recommend a new laptop or go to a repair shop because It's difficult to change a integrated grpahics card because the of the motherboard

Im sorry to say but a laptop with Intel(R) HD Graphics Family can hardly run amnesia. My laptop will run it but only the audio aswell. Intel(R) HD Graphics Family is the worst gfx for gaming its mainly good for CAD or auto CAD but there is a program that can make you computer think it is holding a better GFX card and allow you to run it horridly but i can recall the name. but like i said Intel(R) HD Graphics Family is a deep issue and the GFX card on a Laptop Motherboard are not simple to replace like a desktop. We would need to DE-ball the GFX chip Then make sure it can hold another gfx chip then RE-ball that chip and attach it and the re-balling process is not smooth at all. If you want gaming on the go look around on Ebay or amazon, Newegg. and don't fall for Alienware they are all lights and case honestly.

Well, the thing with black screen on amnesia might be pixel shader related.
My guess would be to try messing around with the game's settings (it has some sort of .ini right?), or just go for 3DAnalyze or some similair software, which can emulate/disable shaders...
