Yup.
I mean not that exact number as the relativity of Swedish crowns to US Dollars fluctuates but overall yes.
This is of course because of Swedens ways of handling taxes etc. and it probably wouldn't work in some other countries that does this differently. -

And even if you don't get the money physically, they usually compensate a huge amount of your study and such. It's about to change in my country (The Netherlands) though, they want to add a system where the student basically takes a loan and needs to pay all the funded money back through work and such. :c

Doing this in the US would totally motivate kids to go to school bus saying idk why they dont implement that here. But I guess because of taxes we can't

I think if they started this in America, it wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe allow the kids who actually want to further their education save for college. Most people are required to go to High School anyways unless they have legal permission not to.
