  • Recordings screwed up for no reason

    Hi guys!

I'm having a hard time with my recordings lately : when I record videos, according to what software I use, I can have up to 3 different parts recorded : the video, the sound of the video and my voice. For some reason, lately, the video doesn't record properly : it usually is about 30 seconds shorter than my voice and the sound of the video, yet it isn't cut and ends right when it's supposed to!

To sum it up : I have exactly 30 minutes of video, but in 29 minutes and 30 seconds. I tried to slow the video so it is the same lenght as the sound, but it actually makes it offbeat.
If I record with Fraps, the sound and the video matches but my voice remains 30 seconds longer. With Camtasia, it's just a fucked up festival and I can't synch it.

I updated all my drivers recently to try to fix it but it didn't change anything. Any ideas where it could come from?
Thanks a lot guys! Btw I'm on Windows 7, just to say.
  • Audio from a Recording software, pffffft!

This may not be the answer you're looking for, but in all honesty; you shouldn't use the recording software to record voice since you can't edit it as well to lower background noise if any.
I recommend installing an audio recorder, or simply using the Sound Recorder that's already installed on windows. I use Audacity, it's free and works very well for a free, open-source software.
After you've recorded the video and sound with a program such as those, just stitch it together in a Video Editor (Movie Maker, Sony Vegas, Camtasia, Adobe Premiere CC).
