Ah nostalgia is a rare thing in some games, the old Arcade games that was challenging and made things so much harder, the games like Megaman(Rockman), ghost and goblins and the game Battle toad
Such games are hard and challenging but they was games that really made the modern day games now, think about it...
If DOOM was never made, would FPS be the same? Would RPGs and JRPGs separated if only one type was made rather then both setting the norm by pokemon or the elder scrolls!

I would say games like metal gear solid for the PS1 or the FF (final fantasy) games made Story normal in modern day games like Skyrim, Splinter cell and Gears of war,Even Call of duty came from this
