Need some tips Bros! Photoshop - Need Similar for Free

Hey there Bros! I need some advice... my computer that had my hacked version of Photoshop died on me (I know I'm bad for hacking...) I don't want to hack again, but I need something that works similar to Photoshop.

Apologizing in advanced if there have been a ton of threads like this, but my internet is crapping on me today so it's not loading much at a fast rate. Anyways, I did some googling for similar stuff and I just don't know what is best.

Please suggest & share safe links (new computer.... I don't want to kill her yet!) Let me know your experience with these programs and if they are up to par with Photoshop. I want to start making some art for my new YouTube account, but I don't want to start posting until everything is set up

It works very well, I use it for my profile pictures and for some stuff. It's a very good software.

The closest program to Photoshop I know is Gimp.
I haven't used Gimp very much since it didn't work so well with my graphics tablet, but you can make pretty much the same quality work with Gimp as with Photoshop.

Hmmmm... I'll check both out for sure! Really excited to get back into "photoshopping art" and such (couldn't think of a better term, bwaha), I've been without a computer for close to 6 months D: /deprived

I won't say GIMP is better than photoshop, but it's good.

For a free program, it is pretty good. It's going to take some time to get use to, but this will get the job done

From what I know, gimp is the best free image editing program out there from what I've heard from friends that use it. I know, for instance a game called simutrans, uses this because it creates really good graphics for what they are doing and it does it without costing a penny

I personally find GIMP awesome. Easy to use once you get the hang of it, and it's free!

I have to say that so far Gimp has really helped me out! I've made my Slender: The Arrival video thumbnails and my Quake 4 thumbnails! I need to work on my main cover though, can't seem to get it to take the dimentions right, it will say the preferred image size yet crops it waaayyyy down. I wish I didn't have to work full time so I can work on it more. I work a desk job where I'm on the computer all day so its hard to want to stare at a computer screen when I'm at home unless I'm gaming.
