    • Idiot because of YouTube

      Hey,

There is probably some people who have or had kind the same situation as I have right now.

People in my high school behave strangely after I started to produce videos to YouTube. I mean, people thinks it's shameful to speak to me. I always can see people watching me and laughing and sometimes saying: "Hey, it's that freak who makes videos." The thing is that I always wanted to make them and share my experience with others, but even some of my friends are acting quite strangely and sometimes just not willing to speak to me. What's wrong with them?

Please leave some solutions if you have them in mind.

    • They probably think its a long shot to make a name for yourself and that your just looking for fame. When I was in high school, a friend of mine was hell bent on becoming a famous actor. I won't lie, I thought it was ridiculous and he seemed to think highly of himself (which wasn't the case, we just thought he did.) Long story short, he ended up on MTV's Friendzone. They all shut up after that, including myself lol

      They did that to me.

I would say justto ignore the things they think/talk about it, as you are you and if they don't like you for what they do, then I would say screw them.

You should know how many people watch anime on my school (belgium) I didn't know it was getting hated in the Netherlands. I'm sorry for you.
    • Just foolishly foolish fools being foolishly foolish to someone who dares to dream or be happy. It is innate jealousy or irritation that people seem to have when someone has found something they like doing. You find it in any sort of hobby or fandom; some people just don't like it. Unfortunately for you, you seemed to have found some condescending YouTube haters (or whatever) that you need only ignore. Engaging them or trying to come to a compromise or solution with them won't change their minds because people with that mentality are far too stubborn to grow up.

Do what you love, and love what you do.

      Best of luck.
    • Do what your passionate about bro, nothing more else much to say.

If your so called "friends" laugh at you and act weird and just do not want to be seen with you, chances are they are NOT your friends, at all

Keep doing what you love doing, one day you can turn around with an army of 5thousand people backing you up all the way and even more!
    • I don't really understand some things said in this thread.

"They probably think its a long shot to make a name for yourself and that your just looking for fame."

Well, that escalated quickly. Unless he's been spamming everyone in his highschool with a link to his YT channel, I don't see why people would find what he's doing as a shameless attempt at being famous. And I find it rather ironical for teenagers to think that about a guy who's having a small YT channel as most of them are probably trying to get famous in other areas as well..

Anyway, I don't know what's wrong with your friends and colleagues. Maybe you just go to a 'funny' highschool. Don't bother too much, though, as TrueRedRevenge said: do what you want to do. If you want to keep making videos, have fun with it. Either don't think about what people are going to say or do the opposite: try to 'gain their trust' by doing something really funny and entertaining that those people could really enjoy. Or, if you get fed up with it, just ask someone about it, maybe they're gonna explain why they think you're weird or whatever.
    • Sorry to say it bro, but your friends suck. Friends should be supportive of you, if you're doing what you love (and it's legal).

My friends joke about my videos sometimes as well (especially imitating my intro's), but that's just joking around, they support me in what I'm doing. Your friends should do the same thing, and if they don't.. well, then they're shitty friends in my opinion.

Don't let them bring you down. If you enjoy making videos, by all means make them.
Fast speaking Dutchman who enjoys talking to his computer screen in an
attempt to entertain people. Slightly insane, completely awesome.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

Keep your hopes up high and your head down low.
    • If people laugh at you, then they aren't worth your time, I know it is hard to ignore them trust me, every YouTuber big or small gets laughed at, but there will always be people who support you and enjoy watching them and just know you make those people happy because you entertain them when they are down, or just need a laugh, as long as you enjoy making them, keep at it, don't let others stop you doing what you are passionate about.
There was a lad in our school who made them, and he had the same problem, but I thought they were quite good and I supported him and it made him able to ignore the others. Just stay positive, keep making them, look for constructive criticism and just enjoy yourself, because at the end of the day, it is your thing, your enjoyment, and you will have supporters, not forgetting to mention

    • I have no idea if this is a solution or not but...

I say you diss those "friends" who call you a freak, or atleast ask them of what's is going on...They aren't your real friends if they act like jerks or dont tell you of what's happening. But don't worry, you got the Bros with you.

    • Dude! These people aren't friends if they can't accept you for who you are and support you.

Ignore the haters. Life isn't worth letting peoples views bring you down, do what you enjoy. If you love doing what you do then do it, there will be other people out there with the same interests. Be friends with those people.
