    • Is this a good PC still?

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition HT dual core @ 3Ghz

CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling rev 2 Heat sink

      Ram: DDR2 4 GB

Video Card: MSI GeForce GT630 Nvidia Graphics Card 4GB PCI-E 2.0 x16 (Just been put in about 3 months ago)

      motherboard: Epox EP

HDD: Main Drive 160 GB Sata and 500 GB Sata as slave

CD Drives: DVD Burner Disk Drive uses IDE cable

PSU: Antec 350 Watt Dual Fan Power Unit

      Case: ROHS Case.

I have got a new gaming PC, But is this pc still good for a bit more use?

It dose great for game development and it plays minecraft very well. Or dose it need an upgrade.
    • You'd need to replace the Motherboard, RAM and CPU all in one as we're on DDR3 and new sockets now. The PSU is also sub-par, you'd need a much higher wattage and also need to ensure you don't get some cheap brand that'll die down the line or won't have the right connectors (nothing like finding your 750W PSU only have one PCI-Express connector when you need three).

If it's just for development though? Sure, why not. That GPU seems a bit too strong for the PSU though, mind you.
    • Nope, the PSU is fine, the extra fan on the back only turns on if it gets to hot, its very good for me and the CPU mite need changing.

its got GBP Ethernet, as long as its doing what I need it to do, there is no need too waist money on it, and the video card dose not go over the 350 what limit, and it dose not need an extra power cable, its copes very well, but thank you for your help.
    • Thank you, its very true that all these intels and AMD CPU's some times an older CPU can do just as good for some people, its not about the power, its about what people need it to do, I am not going to put money on something that can do what I need it to do, this pc is doing very well, I use my new pc more. I may put more powerful PSU on.

Yep, this PC is ok . This can run most of the games in mid setting . Editing will be fine to as the 8GB RAM really helps .
but in mid then you're talking about older games 2010 and less right?
I have the shittiest PC ever . I have Geforce 210 but i can still run MW3 on Mid . Its always not about the PC or graphics card its also about the configuration :)

    • I would like to say thank you for the quick and good comments, I have changed the CPU to the newer Pentium available from intel, it works better and I am using the Pentium 4 EE HT to replace my single core CeleronD on my media center works great! I have upgraded to an 500 watt Antech PSU (Antech is my favorite brand) thank you for the help guys!
    • For modern pc gaming, CPU is gonna struggle, graphics is very good, 4gb ram is very minimal for gaming but being ddr2 it may struggle more. I would say if it is a backup pc though then you are a very lucky person :P lol. It may even make a good server machine depending on what you would like it to run and on what scale.

      Hope this helped :)
