    • How amnesia multiplayer could work out...

Hey guys this is just my idea of how Multiplayer could work in amnesia with out breaking the immersion to much.

So you both start out in a castle and your both in different areas of the map now both of you must work together to finish the level. but you don't see each other all to often instead you both have to help each other in some areas to get past to the next part of the level. such as a lift needs fixing but the machine is in the basement and you have the part upstairs but no way to get down but you can put the part down a drain or well to the other player.

Or you need acid down in the basement the player somehow send it down or pours it down a pipe for you to put a jar under. perhaps sending something up? how would that work? maybe pulley lift where you put the item in and then pull the rope to send it up but a monster is comming so you need to either hide or do it quickly.

this is my idea so far if you want to add or change some of it feel free to i hope this is the right area.

this is only an idea not to be taken seriously as it wont happen.

      thanks for reading!

    • Multiplayer Amnesia? That's actually a very cool idea! I think that every player should be locked in separate area (to keep the Amnesia's atmosphere) with just a few places for exchange for the next pieces of the clues. Along with the game you can unlock the other players from their areas, but you have to be all together for the grand finale. Man, that would be so cool!
    • Multiplayer rules:

      1) 1 grunt per every 4 players in a game
      2) An objective must be completed by all 4 characters, the grunt is trying to catch and kill the players, who the grunt is not an AI, but a player in-game.
      3) Once a player is dead, he does not turn to a grunt, but stays dead till the end of the round.
      4) 5 rounds, everyone is grunt at least once.
      5) Any contact is not allowed, but when players are dead, they may chat to each other dead characters in-game (similar to Call of Duty: Search and Destroy, without player contacting each other).
      6) All other Amnesia game rules apply, (hitting grunt with an object)
      7) Maps could be created by Frictional, or users.
      8) Players host their own servers, as that Frictional is an indie game company, and most likely can't afford hundreds of servers.
      9) Notifications will show to all players in-game when an item is gotten, action is taken. Etc.
      10) Loser is consumed by the shadow at the end of each round.

I see it working, but would the HPL Engine support it? Personally, I don't think so, but, it is an interesting concept.
    • Really not a bad idea, needs work of course though but would have potential, I say it needs to be done at some point. Gotta admit that'd be interesting as hell to end up playing, Amnesia's already pretty messed up.

    • It's not really multiplayer,but coop instead,but it's not a bad idea
