Tips?

    • I might make a gaming channel like most bros out here I actually have a gaming channel but no videos yet.
And I was wondering what kind of tips you could give me for gaming yt vids?

I have fraps as recording device and hypercam(but that doesn't record inside sounds, if you know what I mean) 'cause for some reason x-trap hates on fraps (at least for me o-o).
As for editing programs, I have windows movie maker, some sony editing program that kind of stinks and sony vegas pro 11.

      So any tips? *A*
    • I would suggest dumping fraps and going with bandicam. For editing sony vegas works, though I preffer AVS Video Editor and AVS Audio Editor.
I recommend you record game footage at 30 fps or 29.97 fps, and always in 1080p if your monitor supports that resolution.
If you plan on doing first looks or anything like that it's always a good idea to ask devs/publishers for permission to upload footage of their games on your channel, even if you find an online license that says you can.
Try to figure out a good format(get some feedback, etc) for your vids and then stick with it, people usually hate change.

If I think of anything else I'll edit this post, or make another one all togheter, untill then all I can do is wish you the best of luck.

P.S. Let us know when you have some vids up, I'll be curious to take a look.;)
Just waiting for the zombie apocalypse.

I would advice learning to use Adobe premiere pro, since it does the same things, but doesn't crash as much.
Nothing much more to add, it would be good if you have a good PC so that the graphics of the games and the quality of the videos is good. (I recommend 720p video quality, since 1080p just takes up too much space and it's still a very good quality)
So I've heard, I checked out some Youtube render videos from Sony Vegas where they said the same thing about the video quality o3o.

Thank you very much! I'll check out bandicam then, since fraps didn't seem to be best buddies with x-trap anyways (even though people told me it might be because I missed an update, but I don't know).
I don't know when I'll start uploading them since I'm in the middle of the exams right now, it probably will be this vacation though :D.
    • if you need tips there is a thread in the forum that helps you improve by what and what not to do, for me it really halped not to do any mastake, remember that your heart of the channel is the content you post but no one wont even bother to look into your channel if you will not make some awsome thumbnails, you know like a mark tag, when i see that thumbnail how can i know it is yours and not someone els(i mean how can i identify you by only looking on the thumbnails) and a really importent stuff is the channel trailer and the background, for a channel trailer you basiclly need to say hi to the new people because only the people who didnt subscribe to your channle can see it, the trailer should be 30sec-1:30 min long so people won't get to bored while watching it, in the trailer you need to identify yourself (not real name) and say what do you do and what is the contect and the schedule of your uploading videos, and last is background you need to make people understand that you play games by just looking at the background, i cant really give you any idea of the background but if you want to get an idea how should it looked like go to my channel, and just watch the background to get an idea.
if all of that helped you, you should register to the next youtube maximize your channel course, to me it helped alot.
