    • Facecam help?

      I have just started putting facecams on my videos as I have recently shifted from making Minecraft videos to making horror game videos like pewdiepie. When I sync while I'm recording, I count down from 3 and say start then when I say start I start recording with Bandicam. When I'm editing, it seems just fine, but later on in the video the 2 videos become off time. I record all my audio with my facecam (except for game audio which I record with bandicam) so its not to noticable but its at least 5 seconds off if not more. How can I fix this? Here's an example.

      EDIT: When I say I count down from 3 I mean I start recording my face came then count down from 3 and record bandicam.

    • Well, I'm not sure if this'll help, but try and start the face-cam and Bandicam at different times instead of the same. I didn't use a face-cam, but I use two different softwares for recording game video and audio and the other for my voice, so maybe this can be relevant:
      I press record in Audacity(the audio for my voice) and say 'pressing record in Audacity now.' and pretty much say a bunch of nonsense until I am ready to press record on Bandicam, in which I have the game open and I say 'pressing record in Bandicam in 3-2-1...' and hit record. Then I record both normally, and then when I finish I used a conclusion, hit stop on Bandicam, closed the game and stopped recording my voice. Then, when editing, all you have to do is cut out the audio(in your instance face-cam) of your nonsense and right after saying '3', cut that out to when you start recording the game. Confusing, I know. PM me if you need help.
    • there is also a program called Camstatia that will let you record your screen and will let you "face cam" also no syncing needed you just press record and once your done it will let you edit it with its own editing software

    • i think you should record your voice with auda city, facecam will always be delayed and nothing(for some) and thats why you need audacity, so you can make the sound of your voice in a diffrence layer and then you can adujest it just the way you want for your videos

    • Might be bit late respond but here's how I did my facecam recording for my current letsplay:

      Here's the set up:
      Game is being recorded with fraps (60fps).
      OBS (Open broadcast software) records webcam (30fps) only.
      My commentary is recorded with Soundforge (48kHz 16Bit stereo).

      So I use different programs for each thing. OBS is set so it records only the webcam video, no audio included.
      Stupid part is that Vegas movie studio doesnt accept the mp4 recorded by OBS as it is, so I have to record it again
      using fraps and mediaplayer classic.

      In the editing program I sync the webcam picture and commentary audio track by the clap/snapping fingers sound and visual cue.
      Its synced all the way throught out the video and doesnt get desynced.

      If they would get desynced the issue probably would be the samplerate of the audio. So make sure to check what sample rate you're recording AND exporting with.

      I dont know if this helps at all but this is my process of working with facecam and syncing the audio. It's weird one but it works.
