    • The Bro Canteen

      Hey Bros!

Cooking is one of my hobbies. I really like to try new things but when it comes to international cuisine, books and websites are not very useful. I noticed that almost all of the recipes are slightly altered to fit regular european taste.

What I really want is to cook something typically for one's origin. Furthermore I want to collect ideas or recipes to create my very own recipe book "The Bro Canteen".

This is where I want to ask you! Do you any favourite food, recipes or ideas you would tell me?

Thanks a lot so far, i cant wait for your response.

Chill in fridge for 4 hours.

When set, cut into slices and serve.

Pavlova, another New Zealand dessert staple.

      Ingredients
6 egg whites at room temp
      1 cup Caster Sugar
      300ml cream
      3 kiwifruit or strawberries

      Method
      Heat oven to 150°C (300*F)

Put some baking paper on a baking tray.

Beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks using an electic beater. Slowly add 2 tablespoons (30g) of the sugar at a time, while beating on high. (make sure that the sugar has all dissolved in before adding the next lot).

Then spoon the mixture evenly onto the tray in a circle. Place tray in the oven for 1-1 1/2 hours or until golden and crisp.Leave to cool in the oven after cooked for 45 minutes for the best results

Decorate after cooled and just before you want to eat it.

      ----------------------------------------------------------------

I hope I have contributed well. Both are dishes that were created in New Zealand, and are now part of cuisine here.

For me to post two receipes and then saying you have tried one and that it being really good does not tell us clearly what you really had to eat.

Personally, I think it would be the lolly cake. I'll make a batch tomorrow and post the finished product to the forums.
