The game is an J-RPG, with a very good story, that talks about Tidus, who is a blitzball player who hate his dad, he will be taked 1000 years in the future because of "Sin", a very big (and scary) monster who simply... destroy everything, he will find a very nice company and will take a long and amazing journey to, at first, try to back home, and later, to definitely destroy Sin, the battles are turn-based, this mean that you have to choose the actions that the characters will do (a bit different between Ni No Kuni or other battles-based games, here you have to think a bit more).
The only bad thing about this game is that is slow, mainly in the beginning, where the player almost don't do anything, but, don't worry, cutscenes will reduce going foward into the game...

Unfortunately it's available only for PS2 (until HD version will be available for PS3 and PSVita before the end of 2013) so if you want to buy it you must buy a retail copy (it's old so it costs very little), if you want to play it into the PC it works perfectly with a PS2 emulator
