While making my game, I've come across lots of resources to help me figure out how to make my game.
I'm going to share them all to you here, since there are a fair few people working on horror projects using RPGMaker.
In general my process for building the game was as follows:
Remember to read the links properly, and credit the scriptors where appropriate. I didn't create any of these, just found them on my way.

Assigning Region IDs:

Click the button next to the event button and colour the map with different region IDs. You can then use scripts that will apply based on region IDs. You need it for the footstep scripts linked below.

- Build your maps and your levels
- Add Transfers/Doors between them
- Create your character/Actor
- Add Events and items (NPCs are events)
- Lots of playtesting
- Add/tweak your textures and visuals
- More playtesting
