a new way for robots to think...

Hey everyone! I am back! I have been busy with school and I can not wait in till these next couple of weeks go by! I have been working on a robot operating system for around 4 years and have started with the idea of using video games as a new way for how robots think. I have used video games as a way for a user to interact with a virtual version of the robot before and also make the robot change it's virtual environment based on it's real life environment before, but what do you think of this idea?

p.s. as a side note I can not wait for the new daft punk album! also proof of this software will not be available for a while for development reasons and I don't want people to get their hands on the software just yet.

It would be legit having a video game to render the "levels" by some kind of a camera on the robot to initialize and calculate space to then program A.I into the robot and use electronic signals or pneumatic/hydraulic to get powered up from that point. :thumbup:

Sounds interesting, though i'm a little confused, what is the purpose for this? Are you trying to make a game where what you do in game affects what it does irl and vice versa?

Slater, it would be both, think of you being able to sync to a computer and other people controlling your dreams. You can change aspects of the dream and other people tapping into them through the computer can too. After you wake up you remember parts of your dream being controlled while you altered it from your experiences the day before also. Anyways I have been working on a ROS that can do this for 5 years now, I did a prototype working around a year ago, but it had issues and I had to restart on some things with it.

You had two different ideas in this thread, so let me get this straight.

Basically, you hope to develop a ROS that can sync and tap into your dreams, and to develop a ROS that can connect to video games?

Even if I got the idea wrong, or misinterpreted it, I think you should always pursue your dreams. You seem like a very ambitious person, and that's exactly what the world needs. uvu

The one with the dream was a way to explain my ROS, it is not something I am making. I guess that would have confused things more then simplify the idea, lol.
